Just go for whichever brand they always have in your easiest to get to shop.

They are all much of a muchness because baby formula is so heavily regulated they are pretty much all the same recipe. The only differences are in the speciality ones.

Cow and gate factory also makes anti illegal for example.

Aldi do one which is cheaper than the rest by a little so I'd start there if you have a convenient Aldi.

It doesn't really matter as they are basically all the same. I used aptimel for DD1 at about £11 a tub as I'd heard it was closest to breast milk but that was all tosh, I used cow and gate for DD2 at about £8 a tub.

We went for aldi as its the cheapest.

And it can be swapped for aptimil easily wheni needed the ready made stuff

We picked the one that was the most readily available should we ever run out. That was cow and gate.

What's in the local shop was our criteria. We use C&G as they go sell both the powder and the ready made bottles in both the shops within a few minutes walk. We also figured we'd start with the cheapest option and work out way upwards if it didn't suit.

Actually I had forgotten that you need to take the ready made bottles into hospital if you plan to formula feed from start, they won't let you make them up with powder, so Cow and gate or aptimil are I think the only brands that do the ready made.

We started with Aptimil then switched to cow and gate when we realised it was cheaper and DD never seemed to notice.

I used aptamil. Tried sma to start but the smell was horrendous. Got on great with the aptamil though. Don’t forget to get the newborn packs with tests for the hospital. It’s not just cow and gate and aptamil that do them, sma and hipp do them too

I used aptamil with my first 2 but this one if I can't breast feed will be on hipp organic.
