Early pregnancy 5 weeks anxiety

Hi everyone, I've just found out I'm pregnant to say I'm shocked is an understatement as we stopped trying. There is a big question mark over Egtopic after having several tests, hormone levels at the right level for number of weeks and something appear on scan in the right place but too early to determine definite. I can't think about anything else! Its causing me stress and anxiety as I also aren't able to take to anyone about it. I'm also experiencing aching in my legs? Anyone else had anything similar?

Didn't want to read and run OP.

I didn't have tests for ectopic but I did find myself feeling super anxious around this stage. My only advise would be to give yourself lots of TLC, maybe run yourself a nice warm bath, try to relax, and stay off Google. Google will tell you any ache or pain could mean this and that (I'm speaking from experience, I did it myself).

I also went for a private scan at 8 weeks and felt a bit better after that. If you did the same you could get the reassurance baby is in the right place. I know 3 weeks feels like a lifetime though.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope you can soon feel reassured Flowers

Yes I agree, I am guilty of it but every website says different so I will remain off the net for now until I know more. Back for more tests tomorrow then another scan next week so we shall see.
I just want to know so I can deal with it either way xx

Of course @laurajane8, it is so stressful isn't it. I found those first few weeks really hard and scary too. Good work on avoiding the internet. I was checking miscarriage probability per day, I thought it was reassuring me but looking back I can see it was just stressing me out.

I hope your tests go well tomorrow. Let us know how you get on?

Sending a virtual hand hold xx

Congrats @Laurajane8 unfortunately having lost a pregnancy taints subsequent ones. But you're pregnant now focus on that, take each day as it comes and try not to worry (easier said). I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks in July and it shocked me as I never expected it (as if anyone expects it). I'm now 15 weeks pregnant and the first few weeks were full of worry. I told myself there's not much I can do to change anything but I will stay positive. So sending you lots of good wishes and positive thoughts.x

Just a quick update, so I've been for 2 bloods tests within 48 hours my hcg levels have doubled from 6500 to 14000 something which I guess is a good sign, back for another scan next week. My early symptoms really kicking in now x

Yes positive up to now. Went back for a scan this week - it's not egtopic in a week it has developed, in the right place and I even got to see a little tiny heartbeat. They put me more towards the 7 week Mark which I thought anyway, I dread waking up everymorning as the sickness is horrendous however I guess its a good sign.
My anxiety has calmed a little now so I'm just trying to take it easier and listen to my body although I feel knackered all the time and starving!thanks guys for thinking of me its so hard at this stage as only one person knows just keeping fingers crossed xx

Sorry OP, I totally missed your update. So happy to read all is looking good so far. Chances of miscarriage drop really significantly once you've heard a heartbeat. Hope your anxiety continues to decrease 3OP and all goes well with your pregnancy Flowers. I found it all felt more real once we shared the news with more people. Congratulations xx
