"Feeling" of baby coming early

Shazzzzz · 02/12/2020 19:34

I say "early" im 37 weeks on Saturday so not early as such but has anyone just had a "feeling" they are not gonna make it to 40 weeks?

I dont think i have any overwhelming signs of labour yet... i get the odd period pain, sometimes intense pressure down below and a few Braxton hicks but thats it. I just cant shake the feeling of my baby coming before his due date🙈

Is anyone else the same or am i just wishful thinking? Being due boxing day i really want him here before!!

I literally swing between being convinced he’ll come early (I’m 38+1) or being 41 weeks.

I’m trying to convince myself that he’ll be late, so I’m not disappointed. I’m due mid December so genuinely concerned he is going to be a Christmas baby if he is late. I want my turkey Grin

I was convinced. She kicked so much, I thought she couldn't wait to join us by literally karate kicking her way out of my uterus.

She didn't. My waters leaked and she was formally evicted at almost 42 weeks. That was a long couple of weeks.

I'm due the same time as you. I'm being induced on the 27th if he doesn't come before (they won't let me go over) but I reallly want him to come before 😩😩 how do I get him out???

Why are they giving you a sweep? Who offered this and how do I get one?? 😂😂

I had a feeling that DS2 was coming early. From about 30 weeks I just felt that I wouldn't make it to 40 weeks.

By 34 weeks I was having twinges, pressure etc. I had a growth scan and consultant appointment at 36 weeks as he was measuring big. Consultant said he'd induce at bang on 40 weeks (measuring big, bad tear with DS1).

I said no way would I be hanging on until 40 weeks, he laughed and said "well you're certainly not in labour now"... Two hours later my waters went and DS2 was born that night.

@LeslieYep oh god 42 weeks! I cant cope thinking i may have another 5 weeks left🙈

@passthemustard i had a high level of amniotic fluid at my last growth scan (not concerning just a little high) so i have another on 15th Dec and the doctor said they will give me a sweep too. It was honestly music to my ears!! I had a sweep with my son and it worked so fingers crossed this does 😂🤞

@DonaldTrumpsChopper i just cant shake the feeling! Hopefully if i do need to be incduced its before 40 weeks 😬

@Lou573 awww 29 weeks! I bet that was a shock! Hope she was okay my niece was born at 28 weeks ❤️

@Shazzzzz I had a scan on Monday and I was told I had high level of fluid but no one has offered a sweep!! 😩 I've felt the whole pregnancy I won't get to 40 weeks but now I'm starting to think it was just wishful thinking. Sad times

I'm 30 weeks but have a hunch I'll go at 36 weeks. Time will tell!

@passthemustard have they booked you for another scan? They said they normally rescan after 4 weeks but i would be 39+3 by then so they are doing it at 38+3 instead!

The doctor did look at my notes and said she wasnt worried about the fluid but we will keep the scan to keep track of babies weight and just randomly said they'll give me a sweep too so im gonna hold them to it when i go!

I was convinced my first would be 'early' he was born 8 days after his due date

I knew I wasn't gong to make it to term. I had a feeling from about 7 weeks that just got stronger. I wasn't anxiety or worry, I just knew, like it was fact. Everyone thought I was being overly anxious.

My mum went on holiday for five weeks when I was 30 weeks and I begged her not to.

She had to come home four weeks early because my DD was born at 31 weeks.

My second baby was born at 33 weeks and I had no feeling at all about whether she would be early or late.

I had this exact feeling! I'm a FTM but I just knew he was going to be early, and he decided at 37+2 he would promptly make his arrival with a 2 hour labour 🤣 good luck! Xx

With my first i was convinced I'd go early-so when my due date came and went with no sign if anything I was cross 🤣 i had a sweep the day after my due date and lost my plug and started early labour that night, she eventually arrived at 40+3. Good luck to you xx

I was convinced my baby would come early the whole way through pregnancy. She came at 40+11 after being induced! 🙄

My best friend has just had a little girl and she was convinced her whole pregnancy she would be early, I kept gently reminding her it's more likely she would go over. But she was right and her DD came 5 days early.

I think wishful thinking, sorry! I think it's wondering how you can possibly get any bigger without popping, combined with desperation to meet your baby.
Well, speaking for myself anyway (30+ years after the event)
Congratulations and best wishes for safe and speedy delivery Flowers

I was huge with DS, everyone told me I was going to come early. On the Friday I went for a growth scan as he was measuring big and they told me he was nice and comfy there and was looking at an 9lb baby. DS was born early hours of Sunday morning at bang on 36 week weighing 6,9!
