Hi all, thanks for reading. I've had my belly button pierced since i was 16, i just have a small curved bar with two balls on the end, nothing big or dangly.
It's always just been part of me and forget it's there. I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and was looking at pregnancy bars to change it too, then it dawned on me.. i'm 36, I'll be 37 when the baby is born, am I too old to still have it pierced? I'm nearly 40!
Thought I would get some opinions on here. Thanks!

Don't be so mean to yourself! 30s isn't old at all! 🙃 if you're happy with it go for it!

You’re not too old... but I doubt your tummy will be in any condition to ever show it off again.

Go for it! I took mine out at 28 when I was pregnant with DS - I never got round to putting it back in and I’ve had another DC since. I’m 35 now, I miss it!

I was 27 and didn't put it back in. Also had it since i was 16.

My actual tummy looks alright but my massive bump stretched my belly button and now its all saggy and weird. I'd rather not draw attention to it.

Oh, OP. I wish you all the luck in the world with this and hope you're a lucky one who gets their pre-pregnancy belly button back. I'd attach a picture of mine post pregnancy, but I'd have to attach a graphic pic warning. Honestly, it's like a misshapen, wrinkly cavern made of elephant skin.

Do it! I didn't and regret it. And definitely ignore @PucePanther show off any part of your body you want, regardless of what it looks like.

I'm 51 and have had three kids and still have mine! I dare anyone to tell me I'm too old!

Of course you're not!

I took my piercing out at around five months when it became uncomfortable. Now my stomach and button look completely fine, no sign of pregnancy.. but the hole is completely closed and I'd have to get it redone if I wanted it back

I haven’t put mine back in but that’s just because I’m too fat not too old- I’m nearly 28, due another baby in March and will have mine repierced after a tummy tuck in October next year as I’m done after two kids

Oh and you can get the flexible plastic belly bars for pregnancy so you don’t have to lose the piercing

I didn't put mine back because it had healed over and I couldn't be bothered to have it redone, I would have put it back if it hadn't healed though, I'm 35.

I had mine in the whole was through pregnancy. Dd was born in 2016 and I only took it out last year as my work trousers kept rubbing it. And I regret taking it out.

I'm around the same age (and also had it since 16). DS is 1. I got a plastic bendy one for pregnancy and put my old one back in after birth. Its just part of me and I think I'll still have it when I'm 90.

My tummy is pretty much exactly the same as pre-pregnancy, at least it would be if I hadn't eaten my way through lockdown. I don't ever show off my piercing anyway - can never be bothered to do the work to get a bikini body- I like food too much! Don't think I've worn anything belly-revealing since my mid twenties, but maybe one summer I'll put in the effort to feel comfortable in a bikini again.

The only stretch marks I got anywhere were about 1cm ones radiating from the top hole of my piercing, so must have been to do with it being scar tissue and not stretchy, but they are barely visible now. The only difference I've found is that my belly button must be a bit more saggy now (if that's even a thing!) as my bar hangs down very noticeably more. Will just get a shorter bar when I get round to it though.

You might as well keep it if you want to. I know a friend of mine who regrets not doing so.

You're never too old, nobody has the right to tell you that you are, and you could wear your piercing at the age of 100+ if you wanted to - your body, your choice!

I put mine back in as soon as got home after having my DD at 40!
It's part of me. Not like I go round in belly tops anymore but still. I don't wear other jewellery but I can't even feel my belly button piercing.

Err.. I'm 43, I put mine back in after 10 years during the summer... Also my nose ring. Took some work but it was still open and is totally fine... By belly us huge, I have a c section overhang and whilst it's not something I show off, my boyfriend loves it and so do I. Also got loads more tattoos at 40... Mid life crisis?! You bet! Embrace it!
Do what makes you happy, you're not old!

Like others i don't wear crop tops or show it off but I love having it pierced!

If you like, keep it. At 30, at 80. Who cares? And your stomach might well be perfectly fine after kids. Not everyone gets stretch marks and loose skin.

I didn't put mine back in but that's because I don't want to. It hasn't healed completely and my belly looks fine.

In fact maybe I will the next time I wear a bikini.

I took mine put right at the end of last pregnancy, was going to leave it out after but it just looked weird so I put it back in. Ill be 38 when I give birth now and I'll probably put it back in after.
