I'm here! Going to bed now as back at school tomorrow - any of the other teachers on here worried about school now? The current data is so revealing and even in a secondary school there is no way I can really effectively social distance. We are 'clinically vulnerable' and the advice is work from home if you can and if not avoid other people as much as possible ... Not easy in a tiny badly ventilated room with 32 adult sized people with no sense of danger 😩 I wasn't so worried before but my new found attachment to the baby means all the maternal protection instincts are kicking in and now, even though I know the risk of it harming us seriously is very low, I am freaking out a bit! Xx

Thanks for the new thread, @Sakura54.

Congratulations on your scans, @Pugprincess @Lu93! 🥰

@Poppy10121 I’m sorry to hear you’ve had such a tough week, sending love xx

@Smilingdonkey I do really feel for teachers, it’s such a tough position. Just take all of the precautions you can and I’m sure you’ll be absolutely fine - like you say, the risk to baby is super low. I do feel for you though, must be really difficult. Xx

Thanks for starting the new thread @Sakura54 😊

@Smilingdonkey it must be so tough having limited choice over the risk levels you’re exposed to, we just have to hope that with less of it in the community if people are locked down, that that will help, but it’s not easy :(

Does anyone know if the new rules will affect husbands coming to scans?

Hi ladies been busy trying to sort every thing for DD's birthday.

Congratulations on the scans!

@smilingdonkey I work at a hospital with not many covid beds empty. And the non covid ward I got deployed too is now talking of going covid so I don't know where I'll go 🙈🙈

@skyblue20 I reckon 2 weeks and you'll be feeling movement all the time.

@bubblybon I turn 28 weeks just before Christmas which will be here before you know it! 😣

Congratulations on your scans @lu93 and @pugprincess

Thanks for setting up the new thread and new list of dates @sakura54

@Smilingdonkey I totally.underetand your nervousness about being im school, I think teachers have been overlooked as it is so hard to social distance, and in a secondary school in particular they are basically adults with all the associated risks...

Thanks for setting up the new thread! Might be able to keep on top of this one. Too many things happening, I keep forgetting to check in! 7 days left before I have my scan and find out what I'm having! Eek!

Thanks for the new thread.
Congratulations on the scans @pugprincess, @lu93, @Smilingdonkey

I'd second @Workingmama1's tip to get a double pram option if you might have more than 1 - I got one that you could buy an extra seat for with my first, and it has seen a lot of use!

I'm 8+2 today, got my booking appointment on Wednesday. I'm still worried about all the extra aches and pains I seem to be getting this pregnancy. Feeling terrified this lockdown will mean oh won't be able to come to my scan. No way can I do that alone. I think they forget that the fathers actually care about their babies too. I'm so cross about the lockdown, it's getting ridiculous now. We had to spend last week in isolation as my 2 year old got sent home from nursery with a temperature - got his negative result back quite quickly on Friday, so not too bad.

@smilingdonkey ive been back in school today and really anxious too, I come under 2 vulnerable categories but its just tough! I also haven't felt baby move since first thing this morning so I'm freaking out over that. Although its hard to know when I've been so busy at work. Just done the ice cold water and sugar trick and still no movement. I dont know what to do 😭

@ew1990 I hope they keep you well away from there if that happens! You need to be looked after!

Placemarking! I'm 8+5 today, next scan is at 10 weeks, one step at a time...

Thank you for new thread @Sakura54

I'm placemarking. We had a lovely scan at the weekend showing baby measuring exactly on track at 8+4, the next milestone is the 12w scan now in 3 weeks time. That's if I don't cave and book another scan in between as like @Threnody I'm pretty certain they will say partners aren't allowed to scans and appointments now x

Thankyou for the new thread! @Sakura54

@ew1990 yes defiantly will be here before we know it! Time seems to be going fast!

Is anyone else struggling to sleep on their side? Every night I wake up 3/4 on my back! Surely that can't be good going on 24 weeks this weekend 😫😫

JoJo58995 · 02/11/2020 20:59

@DanceM1 have you felt anything yet? Hopefully baby was just having a snooze and has given you some reassurance? 🤞

Report
JoJo58995 · 02/11/2020 21:02

@bubblybon20 I'm only 14 weeks and I've been trying to train myself early to sleep on my side, and despite having bought an incredibly comfy bbhugme pillow (thank you to whoever it was who recommended that!!) I go to sleep cuddling it and then just wake up flat on my back. I know it doesn't matter this early but I'm going to struggle to change it! Don't know if anyone has any good suggestions? I can't load up pillows behind me because I just overheat 🤦‍♀️

DanceM1 · 02/11/2020 21:03

@jojo58995 honestly ive been worrying sick. Thought I felt a few movements earlier much so much smaller than in recent days that I started to doubt whether I had really felt anything. Ive just spoken to my mum, hung up and cried because I was so worried and baby gave me some reassurance kicks! I think it has moved as kicks are in a different place than they have been recently. Hopefully it's just that its hiding behind my anterior placenta and also hoping I've just been too busy to feel some other movements earlier on 🙏🤞 Hoping for a few more wriggles before I go to sleep! Thank you for asking x

Report
JoJo58995 · 02/11/2020 21:10

@DanceM1 so glad you've had some reassurance kicks! If its tucked in behind your placenta then it might just be being cushioned. Fingers crossed for some more boots for you 🤞 xx

I had about 3 days with no movements or anything that I noticed and I started getting a bit worried, and then all of a sudden, yesterday, the baby was fidgeting like mad and I had what felt like one big kick! Pregnancy is crazy, @DanceM1

Sadly, my OH can't get the time off work to come with me to the 20 week scan, so I'm going to contact them tomorrow to see if I can take my mum instead. Doubt they'd have much of an issue, but think I should check just in case!

DanceM1 · 02/11/2020 21:41

@rosieJess91 @jojo58995 thanks so much! Baby has done some more wriggling about so maybe its just moving now ive chilled out a bit🙈 I had a day yesterday when baby barely stopped moving and I said "I bet baby hardly moves tomorrow and I will be panicking". I think im driving my poor mum mad worrying to her all the time. I hope they let your mum go with you @RosieJess91!

Thanks for the new thread ❤️

Really hoping that they don't change the rules on the scans for you ladies, I'm hoping it will be left outside the new lockdown rules as they seem to have been clear this time that it shouldn't affect any NHS appts and the trusts actually relaxed rules on guests for scans as they were increasing local lockdown restrictions🤞

Also @bubblybon20 I read that if you wake up on your back there is no evidence that it puts you/ bubs at any increased risk it's just how you go to sleep as that's the position you're in for the longest. I'm still mainly sleeping on my front, no idea how that is comfortable 😂

@JoJo58995 that's exactly the same as me! I've got a large pillow and I still end up the same! 🤣🤣

@DanceM1 try not to worry! I've had a few days were I don't feel anything until late in bed, I think baby just moves into awkward positions! X

@SmileyT ah that's reassuring! Think I'm just worrying about minor stuff! I do go back onto my side as soon as I wake up and realise! And omg haha! I love tummy sleeping, but god how are you managing that still 🤣🤣 x

@DanceM1 I had my 16 week phone app yday and midwife said you don’t expect to feel movement everyday until 24/25 weeks. I can’t quite remember how far you are but it’s not that far is it? I didn’t feel much all day yesterday and then like you it came to life at night lol. Xx
