Can you sense twins

Hi I’m currently pregnant - I’m around 10 weeks but I’ve been reading about people “sensing” twins 😱 I’m huge like I look about 5 months gone and I am adamant every night at the same time I can feel flutters already - anyone else sensed there was 2? We’re you right? This could be talking utter nonsense and just being hormonal aswell 😂😂

There can be certain hints such as showing early and worse nausea/vomiting, though these can happen with singlets too. Have you been pregnant before? You tend to feel movements and show earlier with subsequent pregnancies compared to your first.

Not long to go now till you find out!

With my first I had a feeling for the first few weeks it was twins, but talked myself out of it, thinking I just loved the idea of twins and got it in my head. No special symptoms. At 12wk scan it showed that there had originally been a twin, but probably had not lived beyond 6/7 weeks and was already being absorbed. Bit weird! I didn’t have any twinny feeling with my second, pregnancy. Who knows. But bloating in the early days is surprising - it really could be just that. Congratulations either way!

I sensed twins really strongly with my second pregnancy. I was wrong, just the one. I even asked the sonographer to check she'd looked properly Blush

@Love51 haha really 😊 aww it’s strange isn’t it - I wouldn’t be asking but the flutters are so early I know I’m not imagining it 😂 Even my hubby’s like “hmmm you sure” 😂😂 twins dont run in my family or my husbands either x

I've got twins and definitely didn't have a feeling, in fact the possibility hadn't even entered my head until we were told at the scan Grin
I only had a bit of nausea for one week and didnt show at all until i was about six months pregnant. Not saying any of this to brag, just to say how I felt the complete opposite - at times I wondered if I was definitely pregnant at all Hmm

I am just shy of ten weeks too and I really sense twins! I’ve not been pregnant before but I’m huge already (I realise it’s mainly bloat). I have twins in the family and I’ve had dreams of twins. In one dream I had triplets!! I’m not having a scan for another couple of weeks.

I kept dreaming I was having twins when I was pregnant for the second time. Didn't get those dreams first time, had one baby.

The twins are nearly five now.

I was told I was having twins at my 7 week scan and has been convinced for the three weeks before that they were twins. I don’t know how or why I just woke up the day after my BFP and had a feeling.

I think the rule generally is- if you think your expecting twins, your not. But if you don't think you are, you get a big surprise 😆

That's my experience anyway, not only from the pregnancy boards where no one ever who thinks it's twins turn out they are having them. To my own ongoing twin pregnancy where at 8 weeks I was told there were two heartbeats.

The poster above is definitely the exception to the rule ☺️

Obviously if your on clomid and feeling very sick very early and get a strong early test you might be thinking about the possibility it's a multiple, but standard pregnancies without fertility medication or IVF ect, it's pretty rare to actually get naturally pregnant with twins, though chances rose as an older mum (+40)

I am pregnant with my second set of twins, with both if them early on i joked i was having twins. Mostly because of how my tummy got big. With my first set of twins i found out at 12 weeks the had extreme morning sickness from 9 weeks to around 15 weeks.
With my second set of twins i found out at 9 weeks, felt flutters around this time too. Morning sickness started at 7 to 9 weeks ended up on sickness tablets. Then it started again at 11 weeks and hopefully now stoped at 15 weeks.
I do have 3 singletons too and never joked i was pregnant with twins with them. I think i knew but just needed it confirmed.

I was sure I was having twins - they run in the family, had multiple dreams about twins, saw twin three sets of twin animals (lambs, calves and two virtually identical Shetland ponies) in the first week after I found out. Definitely just one baby! But your signs are more tangible and less woo than mine so you may be right Grin

I ladies, I thought I’d come back to tell you that I was right! I had a scan at the weekend (first one) and I we are indeed expecting twins! I dreamed that I was and I already have a tiny bump ... I have a completely bicornuate uterus with a baby naturally conceived in each ‘horn’. 🙂 early days but very exciting!

I got a sense and I'm an identical twin. I miscarrried her at 7 weeks. The yolk sac was massive. I knew. I just knew but had all the symptoms: implantation bleeding, 4th pregnancy, I'' a twin, I'm tall and a good BMI. My mum also had a feeling she was having twins and had to tell the sonographer to look again as she couldn't do her jeans up at 6 weeks. I knew that it was girl and am delighted as I have two boys. I'm pleased I miscarried as 4 under 4 would have been too much both financially and emotionally.

Pregnant with twin boy here (due in a few weeks) and definitely couldn't sense it. I had absolutely no idea and couldn't believe it when the sonographer told me she could see two on the scan - I'd actually booked an early one as my symptoms had eased off at 8-9 weeks and thought something had gone wrong.

All the best with your pregnancy!
