Planned pregnancy but so scared(3 Posts)
First of all I’m really sorry if this comes off as insensitive.
I am just under 6 weeks pregnant. DP and I actively tried for this baby and we also have DS who is nearly 3. The thing is that since I’ve found out I’m pregnant I’ve had such massive wobbles about it, I’ve even found myself considering abortion fleetingly. I absolutely adore being a parent to a non-baby. I found the baby stage rough, but the older DS gets the more I enjoy him. The thought of having to tough out another “baby stage” is really getting to me, but I feel stupid and ungrateful because we both wanted this and I know I’m lucky to be pregnant.
I’m not really sure why I’m posting. Maybe for a bit of advice or some comfort that I’m not mad?!
Thanks for reading x
Nothing wrong with being honest! I'm not over-thrilled with the baby stage, it's the child stage I'm most looking forward to!
Pregnancy hasn't been a blast so far and terrified of the birth and what my body will be like for months afterwards!
Just think, a second baby will keep your first company - so in the long run it will pay off
Sadly on Instagram there seems to be little talk from honest mothers, like we're all meant to just be perfect and adapt perfectly to motherhood..., xx
I find the tiny baby stage tough too. Apart from everything else, it’s sooooo boring
Can you look back on your experience with DC1 and make any changes this time to make it easier/better... can anyone look after DC2 on a regular bass to give you some time to yourself - even if it’s only a morning?
Is there anything that DP could do differently this time that would help?
Great quote I heard is ‘you can’t pour from an empty cup’, ie you have to look after your own needs if you’re going to be in any way useful to everyone else!
Put some thought into it, see what you can come up with? X
