I’m just over 10 weeks pregnant and I’ve had some mucusy brown discharge on and off for the past 3 days. Has anyone else experienced this?? X

Yes, I did on and off up to 12 weeks. I was really worried and had 2 private scans but everything was fine, 28 weeks now. They said it was just old blood clearing itself.
It might be worth calling your midwife for reassurance but I read loads of posts and articles on it and it does seem to be normal, even though it's worrying.

Yep. I had a little bit of bright red blood when I wiped which then turned into a day or so of brown spotting at 10 weeks. I called the midwife who sent me for a scan at the EPU and all was fine. Apparently that’s the time the placenta is attaching so it’s very common at 10 weeks (I feel like they should tell you that!). I was told it’s not a problem unless you’re filling a pad. It stopped after a couple of days and I’ve had nothing since and baby is well.
I’d call your midwife if you’re worried or it gets heavier but I think it’s common

I had this for about 2/3 weeks and got told I have a hematoma. I would ring your EPU for a piece of mind. X

I had a some dark brown mucas at 10wks over a couple of days. Just lost little bit at a time. When I spoke to a midwife I was told brown is just old blood making its way out and not to worry. I think they only get concerned when lose a lot or it’s red. I’m now 30wks with a healthy baby so in my experience brown mucas was not an issue

I had brown discharge (like the start of my period) at 5 weeks, went to EPU and had an examination and scan, all ok. They said brown blood is old blood and is better than red blood. I would get it checked out to put your mind at rest.
