Worried about baby/ something is wrong

For some reason I’m worried baby will not have a heartbeat at the 20 week scan appointment. I’ve had general anaesthetic when I was 16 weeks and 5 days pregnant prior to that I had taken a wrong dosage of antibiotics(hospital fault) so now I’m super worried about baby and the outcome. I have a gut feeling and I don’t know what it is

I can't advise I'm afraid but how much longer do you have to wait until your scan? I hope all will be absolutely fine Thanks

Not sure if I’m being ridiculous being so worried but I’ve been through a lot this pregnancy so far

Hello

Can you not get a private scan ? Can you feel baby move ? I was worried all the time so I bought a ripple and I’d use it 3 times a day to hear heartbeat 💗

OP, you have my full sympathy and understanding here. I felt like that before every scan and every MW apt. I'm not generally an anxious person, but being pregnant unexpectedly brought this out. I had the same gut feeling and just couldn't imagine taking a baby home...said baby is now 3 and a perfectly healthy and happy girl. Keeping everything crossed for you that your hit feeling is pregnancy hormones and paranoia playing tricks on you Flowers

No I can't do a private scan, thank you all for understanding,

I had a cyst taken out like 3/4 weeks ago, under local. They than prescribed me antibiotics on the actual box they wrote 4 tablets 4 times a day, so I took them for two days before realising hold on this doesn't mean right.

Looked at my discharge paperwork where they wrote 1 tablet 4 times a day. I panicked and called 111 where they advised me it's too high of a dosage and there might be a risk .

Fast forward 2 weeks later it came back again and as stated on original
Post I had to get it taken out under GA. which in itself holds risks to pregnant woman. So that's why I'm under at lot of worry

Phone your midwife - they will be able to listen in to baby for you

I have to go to the hospital today to get the dressing changed is it worth, asking when I'm there?

Yes, ask at the hospital. I'm sure they'll help.

I've tried twice they seem to brush it off, if I'm not having any bleeding they assume everything is fine but I don't think that's fair and they should put my mind at ease but today I'm gonna be a bit more firm and kinda demand one

@MySunShine2018 put your foot down with them, it was their error and they should be bending over backwards to put your mind at ease. Good luck xx

Yes that's true, I'm just consistently worrying but today is the last straw and I'm gonna ask again and not accept anything other than we can check

Stick to your guns OP! Don't let them fob you off, especially as it was their error.
Fingers crossed all will be well 🤞🏻

I’m sure everything will be just fine Flowers

I can understand why you are so worried though.

It’s is definitely worth asking for them to listen in today, that will at least give you peace of mind until your scan in a week x

Definitely push them to refer you for a scan. I've found they try to do the minimum. Emphasise that their error has put you in distress and you are now hugely concerned about your baby (exaggerate if you need to) escalate if they don't listen
