Blood pressure lower in third trimester

This is probably not really a problem but I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this!

Since my booking in appointment, my blood pressure has always been around 138/80 which always slightly concerned me as its a little on the high side. I am now 37 weeks and for the past 2 weeks my blood pressure has dropped to around 116/65 which I'm sort of happy about because it seems like a healthier number, but at the same time I can't help but wonder what caused the drop.

I've asked several midwives and none of them are concerned but they say usually blood pressure rises in the third trimester and I can't seem to find any info on why mine has done the opposite! I'm sure it's fine but I'm really curious why this happened and if anyone else has had this.

Thanks 😊

Mine was less at my 28 week appointment than my 16 week. Not quite as much as yours but was lower. Maybe for me because I'd had a chance to sit down beforehand and also know the drill now. Yours is a good reading l. Maybe you were nervous before and hadn't realised

I had low blood pressure similar to yours at my 31 week app, when usually I have textbook bp. The midwife said she actually prefers pregnant women to have low bpConfused

My blood pressure has gotten less and less throughout my pregnancy and my midwives have never raised it as a concern. I’m 38 weeks now and about the same as you :)
