Snoring partner and baby on the way!

Hi all!
My husband snores consistently, often to the point where he has to sleep in the other room as he wakes me up in the night.
We've our first baby on the way, and I'm worried about how we're going to manage with the baby in our bedroom, he's going to wake them up with his snoring!
Has anyone had this issue and worked out a solution? I don't want him sleeping in the other room all the time as I'll need him to help with nighttime feeds etc.

Thanks!

Babies are pretty good at sleeping through noise if its all they've ever known. Advice is to not try to be quiet around them day and night or else you'll be stuck in a cycle of having to be quiet all the time. They should be ok to sleep with normal noise levels, I wouldnt worry about it yet.

My DP sleeps in the spare room because his snoring wakes ME up.

Our DD Is 10 months and is yet to wake up due to his snoring and trust me, it's bad.

If baby hear it's from the get go, should be fine :)

The snoring will probably be white noise to the baby Grin I wouldn’t worry about Baby, but worry about you getting enough sleep.

Well don't be quiet around baby sleeping, then they will be used to noise and can sleep anywhere.

Think of him as a cheap white noise machine - you won't need a Ewan the sheep now 😬 where he actually helps them to sleep.

If you're worried you could get him to try those Breathe Right strips to help a little.

I'm worried about this too, but more in the sense of my own sleep! Currently I wear really hardcore ear plugs and its the only way I can get any sleep. I cant really do this once the baby comes so I have no idea how I am going to get any sleep! Hes happy to sleep in the spare room but I don't want that all the time. I have visions of lying awake next to him asleep and snoring and a baby asleep and snuffling!

My husband's snoring is terrible! My 16 week old currently sleeps through it and my first DS did too. I was the one who was kept awake by it and found it massively irritating in those early weeks where the sleep deprivation hits you hardest. I give him a did in the ribs and get him to roll over.

My DD sounded like a warthog for the first 4 months or so, you might strike it unlucky and get it from both sides! I wouldn't worry too much about baby, many (but not all!) are pretty good at sleeping through noise.

My snoring is terrible, really terrible. My mum used to say that when I was in bed upstairs she couldn't hear the tv downstairs. Anyway, I was a bit worried about this but I don't think my snoring has actually woken up any of my DC, they certainly don't mention that it does. Two out of my three DC are loud snorers too, as is DH so there's plenty of noise in this house.

Yeah, I was actually going to say that you’ll have a head start on coping with the baby’s noises then - DD is 5.5weeks and when she’s spark out it’s like sleeping next to a very lovely but very loud truffle pig Grin

No tips but also jumping on this thread. I also wear earplugs to bed and can still hear DP through them! I don't think I should be wearing them when the little one is here so god knows how I will get any sleep!

The baby will hear his snoring in the womb and will be already used to it when they are born, they may even find it soothing. Agree with a pp who said dont tiptoe around in silence when they are asleep. Good luck

Am I the only one thinking if you kill him now, then when you're up feeding at 4am and he's snoring obnoxiously loudly and you're exhausted it will be much easier to clean up and dispose of the body without having to mind a newborn too?

The baby was fine with my DH snoring.... at 3am on a Saturday morning when I was feeding for the eleventy-fifth time I was not fine with the snoring... and I've been used to it for 10 years. The rage quickly passed though... imagining smothering him helped.

I was really worried about this before DS was born. I couldn't sleep without earplugs due to my DH snoring. Anyway in the end I slept with one earplug in so I could get to sleep and I still heard DS when he woke up. DH snoring didn't wake the baby.
