I think I am entitled to maternity allowance rather than SMP as I didn't earn enough during the test period.
Do I have to send my MatB1 to my employer anyway to confirm this?
Also, when I'm trying to fill in the Maternity Allowance form it asks me to use the test table for key dates but the test period tables I can find only go up to the end of December and I am due January. Am I just doing it too early or have I missed another table for 2021?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
I’ve just completed my application for maternity allowance and it said you can’t apply until 14 weeks before due date. So 26 weeks pregnant or more, that might explain why the test period table only goes up until December at the moment.
I’m sure they will update it soon.
I had to give my employer the matb1 form so she could complete the SMP1 form to prove that I had been refused SMP. She used the details from my matb1 to also help her with the details she needed.
Hope this helps!
