Sleeping positions

Hey all! So I’m 8 weeks at the moment and one thing that has been crossing my mind is how I sleep.

I’ve got HG and bloating and constipation to go along with it, so pre-pregnancy I used to always curl up in a ball and tuck my knees up as high to my chest as I could do help pass the wind. Is this something I shouldn’t do whilst pregnant? It’s just an automatic thing I do when I’ve got cramps and nausea (Which is a hell of a lot at the moment) 😱

I also usually sleep half on my front, so my waist down is usually flat facing down, and upper half is on the side. At what point is it dangerous for the baby to sleep on your front? I’m thinking of investing in a pregnancy pillow or something to try condition by body into not being on my front.

Obviously I don’t want to do anything to endanger my little bean so would be very grateful to hear other people’s experiences with how they slept during pregnancies. Thanks in advance 🥰

Hi OP
Sorry no advice here but keen to know about this too as I move around in my sleep A LOT and end up in probably every sleep position possible. Thinking of investing in a pillow too but not sure what to get exactly.
Can't control how I move while I'm sleeping but I'm guessing that I'll be limited more when there's a bump there? I dunno...

You shouldn’t sleep on your back after around 20 weeks. Lying on your left side is preferable but either side is fine, you can lie on your front until bump makes it impossible to do so, you won’t harm baby as it’s cushioned. You can curl up but obviously once bump gets bigger that will get harder to do

@Oneandabean I'd say the same.

Now 22 weeks and kept waking up on my front. Literally this week I can't even do it. Like a bubble is there.

Recommend sleeping on side with a pillow between your legs

Curling up and sleeping on your front are both fine and won’t hurt your baby. There will come a time though when your bump prevents you from doing either comfortably!

From 20 weeks you shouldn’t go to sleep lying on your back; either side is fine.
