Inconclusive scan

Private Early scan tonight showed baby measures 5w 5d and no heartbeat. I should be 7+3.

They said I should get a rescan in 2 weeks as either I'm earlier than I thoight or it's a Mmc. She did encourage me to ask for an nhs one next time so I think she was steering me towards the acceptance of a mmc.

I don't think I can be 5w5d... I had a positive test 4 weeks ago and I know when I ovulated (16/08).

Therefore I'm 99% certain I've miscarried. Is there any hope?

Didn't want to read and run.
No experience to give you, but I'd say there is still hope.
There are people in a pregnancy group I'm part of that has early scans and they didn't have a heart beat as they were earlier than they calculated.
Gone on to bad fine on 2nd scan.

I really you are just early.
Good luck. I hope it works our x

Hi OP, honestly it's probably 50/50. I've been there several times, sometimes it has worked out, sometimes not. All you can do is wait 2 weeks and have another scan. X

I'm with calimommy above - my now 8 year old was measuring 5+1 when I thought I was 6 weeks at first scan with consultant obstetrician- In fact my husband had been in France when I would likely have ovulated, if he'd been conceived 6 days later then the spermatozoon must have been about 9-10 days old! so absolutely convinced I'd had another mmc- turned out two weeks later at follow up scan the heartbeat fine and baby grew well. In fact I'm convinced it's not as accurate and clear cut as we think because even though he was only measuring 5+1 when he should have been 6 weeks my due date never changed and he was nearly 9lb

Good luck, I've seen on MN before also with success stories after assumed disasters - so be positive

If you ovulated 16/08 would that not make you 5 wks 5 days today? Sorry if I've misunderstood

@howmanyroads - you are right actually, I didn't take notice of that date!

OP get your calendar out to see when your LMP start date was

Sorry OP, was hoping it wasn't a typo. If you are given bad news in 2 weeks time please know that you will get through it, the same happened to me in March so I know how hopeless it can feel.
