have I got thrush?

Hi everyone,

May a bit tmi, but I'm unsure if I have thrush or if it is something else. As its the weekend I cant get a doctors appointment.
I have been itchy for the last few days and its unbearable, its not around the vagina opening its more towards the clitoris area (I did say tmi)
I also have a watery discharge and white stuff around the itchy area.
I am 14 weeks pregnant so wasn't sure how to treat it although I know i can't take oral medication for it.
Please help!!!

I'd recommend asking in a chemist. There should be one open locally with a pharmacist available at the weekend, or boots is usually a good shout.

Some in Wales are trialling minor ailment services, so can actually prescribe treatment for thrush (so free in Wales).

Watery sounds more like BV but white is typical of thrush. Cannesten sell a test to tell between the two. I have had thrush more than I care to admit (too much bread is a nono!), but no experience treating when pregnant sorry. Maybe contact a midwife or out of hours if it can't wait.

I had thrush around 15 weeks pregnant and the doctor prescribed a 3 day canesten pessary (this is low dose compared to one single pessary). You just can’t take anything orally. The pharmacist might not sell it to you if you say you are pregnant though but I would try.

@Whatinthename20 oh really? I've looked on the caneston website it says the pessary or cream are safe to use during pregnancy. Pharmacies are closed now and obviously cant get a doctors appointment atm. I'm desperate to treat it ASAP

@Littleone12 I’ve heard natural yoghurt is good for relieving itchiness? Could you get some from the supermarket and lather yourself down there in it for temporary relief until you get to a chemist?!

Have you got your community midwifes number?
I know they say go to doctors before 20 weeks but my CM were great last week when I had a UTI Smile

A pharmacist may not sell it to you but you can buy passaries/cream off the shelf in supermarkets if you cant bear the itching

I have been to the supermarket and bought the soft gel pessary, it says to just not use the applicator and insert manually. Hopefully it works

The soft gel pessary is the best I find. Hope it works for you, thrush is horrid!
