Maternity nightwear

Has anyone found any good maternity nightwear for your hospital bag? Nightwear to give birth in and for afterwards? I'm really struggling! If you've found anything please send the links my way! x

@Stargazer87 with both my girls I just went to primark and brought cheap nighties for when I was on labour. They are about £6 and if they get ruined they can go in the bin at that price.

Next has some comfy stuff. I thought I would give birth in a shirt type night from primark. Reality was I was butt naked and didn’t give a shit

After I wore short and baggy top type pjs as the ward is boiling but I was in a gown for a good 9 hrs after birth by time I had gone to surgery for a repair and my legs came back after the spinal they gave me to stitch me back together.

I bought massive sizes from Matalan. Really comfy nightdresses which grew with the bump and which were comfy post birth too.

I’ve got a couple of sets from next - 2 that I’m wearing at the moment and 1 is packed in my hospital bag - they’re really comfy.

I know everyone says hospital wards are really warm - I'm having a December baby, are the wards still likely to be warm?

Like a PP, I've got 2 cheap nighties from Primark that were around a fiver each. I'm normally a size 12/14, but bought XL sized ones. They're oversized, cotton and very comfy.

I really struggled to find anything online as I'm avoiding shops. Checked the supermarkets and matalan and couldn't see anything

I wanted button down nighties for the labour and after in case of a c section which were also easy access for skin to skin and breastfeeding...I had to buy the 2 pack from seraphine

I also got a couple of nursing friendly pjs from amazon and jojo as it was impossible to find pjs with button down tops

I just bought some large normal pjs in a dark colour and same with a shirt night dress. Sainsbury's abs Primark. Much cheaper. Both had button fronts.

I got all mine from George at Asda - they've got nice maternity/nursing options, some with button fronts and they're not expensive! It won't let me link it for some reason but search "maternity nightdress" on George.com

I recommend shirt nighties; there’s currently some in primark. Comfy and can unbutton for breastfeeding and were easier to take on and off after my section. Also if you put leggings on under them you can half pretend you’re actually dressed

I actually have XXL mens summer shirts from the supermarket. Lots of shops are selling them off for like £5 - cheaper than the button down nighties and still comfy :-)

Hi. Last time I wore primark with DS and binned them at hospital. This time I found some cheap ones on boohoo that I liked. I was suprised as never shopped with them before. I always thought them to be for the teen/20 age and smaller ladies. They do a nice maternity range that's not too expensive. Free returns too for those like me who hate online shopping. Or shopping in general.

Today in bought a beautiful nightie from M&S. The softest fabric!! Was only £18. Will be putting it in my hospital bag n I imagine wearing it for a while after - good for breastfeeding too.

If you want ones with buttons get them from the plus size shop Yours. The smaller sizes will accommodate bump and be baggy for after birth comfort, plus easy access for BF.

I bought some of these from boohoo - they're so soft and comfy and exactly what I was looking for! (Not too short either!)

I'm normally a size 10-12 and I bought size 18 and they're perfect!

@Whatelsecouldibecalled this made me laugh because I literally did the same, I got into the pool and kept my top on and then I just wanted to be naked after that as I didn't stay in the pool but my top was then wet, my partner was like err why haha didn't have a bra on or anything I was given a sheet so I tried to keep that round me but it hardly stayed there.
I did however end up in theatre for a forceps delivery so had to get into a theatre gown which I then was in for about 10 hours after I gave birth and finally was able to get some help and into the shower.
I think the only thing that concerned me when I went in the shower was they said leave the baby there behind my curtain haha I was horrified I thought but what if someone takes him?! 😂

Sainsburies have a good amount of maternity pjs and just big and comfy nightwear which I've found useful

Hey, I just wore a vest/strappy cotton midi dress. Was easy to lift up when needing examined but kept my modesty the rest of the time. Plus it was roasting and I needed a fan in the labour room. For after the birth I got really nice pj's from Jigsaw and just sized up a few sizes xa

I got nighties from Cyberjammies - in the sale plus additional NHS discount. They are button down at the top. They are really really nice. I had a section (elective), so wore a gown for the first day, then changed in the evening. Big knickers and pads. No soiling of nighties. Wore at home also for first couple of days. To be honest, I haven’t really worn them at night, just a pair of big knickers and bra

I think ideally I want some strappy, stretchy cotton nighties. Primark had some nice ones a few weeks ago but seem to have sold out in my local stores. I don't like the thought of wearing anything too big or with sleeves, I think I'd get way too hot! If anyone has seen what I'm looking for please send links my way! x
