So it turns out I have a high anterior placenta which I believe means it can shield those early kicks a bit! But I still haven't felt anything yet and thought I would have by now?

When did you feel kicks, especially if you had an anterior placenta please? Hoping for reassurance!

At 20 week scan everything was fine so I probably just need to relax!

I am 25 weeks and have a anterior placenta like you I was starting to get a bit worried but between 23-24 weeks i started to feel strong movements there usually at the sides more. I hope this helps reassure you slightly if
you don't feel anything by 24 weeks give your midwife a call and they will check everything is fine with baby x

I have a high anterior placenta and I was exactly 22 weeks yesterday. I felt some slight movements at 20 weeks (which could have been gas) but I feel like I have started to feel the baby move everyday since last couple of days only. I am a FTM as well and I freak out too when I don't feel anything at all. But try to relax and be patient. These anterior placentas are a bane of our lives. If all was well at the 20 week scan then it must be all fine. The placenta is cushioning the movements. My fetal medicine doctor told me to have a cold Coke and do some jumping jacks and then lie down quietly for 30 mins in a calm quiet place and concentrate. The gas bubbles in your tummy might just be the baby moving. My best friend has 3 kids and she says that at this time of gestation if you feel like you have gas in your tummy but still don't pass any wind then it must be the baby and not gas. Hope it makes sense. Give it time till 23/24 weeks. It will happen.

Anywhere between 18-22 weeks is normal, no need to worry until 24 weeks xx

I had a high anterior placenta.
I can remember only feeling proper kicks from circa 23-24 weeks, and they were not strong. In fact they were never strong. I did suffer nausea throughout though, as all that placenta mass and feet movement squashed my stomach!
That baby is now 6 months old, healthy and strong. Your last scan showed a strong baby, and in all likelihood they still are.
Plus some babies kick less than others. Best of luck x

Low anterior, didn’t feel anything definite until 23-24 weeks.

This is my first and I felt first movement at 13 weeks. I'm now 16 and a half weeks and feeling kicks and rolling sensations.

It's amazing how is varies from person to person, I didnt ask where my placenta is in the scan but I presume it's posterior x

Hope you get those feelings very soon
