No problem ladies. The other chat is now full.

I finish up for maternity leave a week today. Now I'm here it's come round fast but I've been waiting for it for so long! Unfortunately house renovations are not finished yet but hoping I'm a few weeks it will be. Seriously cannot wait. We've been living in mess since the start of lockdown. I so badly want to nest!!

I know that feeling @BecsterG after living with my in-laws and out of multiple bags for the last 8 months! But today we finally got the news we have exchanged on our house!! Get the keys on 7th Sept 🏡 🔑. Finally some positive news!!

Our brains are still f*cked from the news this week so we've booked a couple of nights at a spa hotel to try and switch off. I absolutely cannot wait to go for a swim!! Obviously won't use the sauna/jacuzzi but it will be so nice to relieve my aching back/ribs in a pool.

Hope everyone is doing okay. @MrsB16 you're in my thoughts as I know you're getting close to the end now! Hope you've managed to relax a bit now you've moved! Xx

Thanks @BecsterG, very exciting about finishing for maternity leave!

@MilsCookie I'm so sorry to read all you have been going through. This is just so hard on you but it still seems there's a good chance your girls will be born healthy. But I know the worry will be there with you constantly. Hopefully the next few weeks go by easily as can be for you asides then worry. And vent all you need. xx

@scrumdiddly123 great news to see the scan went well!! Such a relief☺️

Oh wow @BecsterG that isn't long at all!! Good luck on your renovations, its a nightmare isnt it!! We are in the middle of lots of stuff to and whilst it's very liveable, we still don't have some stuff booked in and I desperately want it finished before the baby comes!
@MilsCookie congratulations thats such exciting news! Something to look forward to and will be so good to have your own space. Hope you have a relaxing time at the spa. Its my due date from my MC coming up which I am really struggling with, we are considering doing similar

Tell me about it @Whiffle77. We need to go choose carpet and get that booked in or else it'll be my due date before it goes in.

Great news @MilsCookie. 7th September is only a week on Monday! X

@BecsterG glad your renovations are nearly done!
Mine aren't! You know what's really frustrating is the fact the trades men we are ringing to price up things aren't showing up! And it's not like they are small jobs it's big jobs we are needing! So it's putting us way back. My mother in law is having to make more space as I type this because of what I'm ordering and storing. I'm living out of bags and I sooo want to nest but my house is still a building site

@MilsCookie great news about the house! And a spa break will do you the world of good definitely just what you need to pass the time. When's your next scan?

When after 30 weeks did you start noticing your bumps get bigger? @BecsterG @MrsB16 ?
Feel like my bump has stayed the same for a few weeks now ha.

Saw midwife today for my weekly bloods, mentioned to her that baby has no pattern to movements at all. She sent me hospital for monitoring, had monitoring and they've sent me for a scan.
His estimated weight is now 4lb 4oz at 30+5 Blush Eek!!

@AlviesMam I felt exactly the same about my bump. To be honest I've only notice it's grown a bit in the last few week. I'm still not massive for almost 36 weeks but my measurements are spot on so I'm not concerned. I feel about 50 weeks pregnant though! My maternity jeans band has started to feel a little uncomfortable when sitting and working as I'm in the same position for hour. To top off being heavily pregnant I can feel a wee cold coming on. Zzz

@AlviesMam we have had exactly the same, arrange for people to come and price up and they just don't bother! Or they do and then don't bother to send a price! Its so frustrating, we moved in in October and naively thought we would have finished most things in a couple of months! Just bathroom, decorating and carpets left now but they are all dependant on the bathroom first which isn't booked in yet! So frustrating, I'm a very organised person too which makes it harder to have no control! Sorry, if you are buying a doer upper @MilsCookie you probably don't want to hear all this 🙈
Hope all ok @BS9790

@AlviesMam, I haven't noticed my bump getting bigger for a while now it seems to have stayed around the same... but it has grown upwards as can feel it closer to my ribs now.
I was measured today and bump is measuring 2 weeks smaller, but baby on scan is measuring 2 weeks bigger!

Sorry for dropping off the thread. DDad had a series of mini strokes 2 weeks ago, so we've been trying to get ourselves sorted. Touch wood, he's had a lucky escape with only mild residual numbness on one side. They also found a benign brain tumour, so he needs to build up his strength to have an operation on that.

Sorry to hear about your worries @MilsCookie. I have everything crossed for you and your girls 💓

Can't believe we're so close to the first thread baby!

Re recommendations:
We had the Next2Me, it was great being able to just lean over and grab baby. I've recommended co-sleepers to everyone who has had a baby since.

I breastfed DS for 10 weeks, then he went on nursing strike (essentially refused to breastfeed any more) so we moved to bottles (and found he was lactose intolerant, but that's a story for another day). Our perfect prep was invaluable! Personally, I don't think the new features are worth the extra money. Agree with what was said earlier, that you need to follow the care instructions and change the filters regularly (and DH used to put cooled, boiled water in as well). We used it for over 2 years with no mould or temperature issues, and DSis used it after us with no issues either. Another tip I would add, we used to take it upstairs with us at bedtime! Saved going downstairs and all the way through the house to the kitchen for night feeds.

We had the Dr Brown's bottles. Never had any issues with colic, but I can't say if that was why as we never used a different brand.

My friend had twins, and used the maam self sterilising ones, and I noticed that they do anti-colic ones now.

Oh my goodness @FireflyGirl how worrying for you all and your poor dad. Glad he's not suffered too badly in the long run from it. Do they think they were caused by the benign tumour? Hope you're okay 😘 xx

Thanks @MilsCookie.

He's been on medication for high blood pressure for 35 years, and the hospital have said the strokes were due to the medication being too high.

I'm just a bit shaken up, we all are. Luckily (?) it happened while I was visiting, he was actually in the middle of talking to me, so we got him an ambulance straight away, it was there within 5 minutes.

He's been very emotional since, thinking about what could have happened, and he'd never get to meet my baby (or my DSis's, due in January) or see our older boys grow up. His scans also showed damage from previous mini strokes, that he hadn't even noticed.

It's been emotional for me, too, because I'd always taken it for granted that of course my dad would be around to be a grandad to my DC. Didn't expect something like that at (a rather young and active) 62!
