Hi everyone.
I'm 35 weeks pregnant exactly today. I'm wondering if anyone can help or have experienced similar to me at this stage of pregnancy. I have been experiencing Braxton Hicks every day since 29 weeks. They have started to get stronger the last week. I have strong shooting pains in the pelvis. Baby was 2/5 engaged on Saturday. My bump has also dropped I guess for that reason. I have constant period cramping I feel nauseous and today and yesterday experiencing diarrhoea. I feel sluggish tired and lazy with lower back pain 🙈 I also noticed a small clear leak of fluid in my pyjama bottoms today. It wasn't urine as it didn't smell or look like urine. Could this be eaters leaking ? This is my second baby I was induced with my 1st at 12 days over due. I don't know if I'm experiencing early labor signs or just pregnancy in itself. Not sure how to cope feeling this almost poorly for the next 5 weeks. Has anyone else experienced similar towards the end ? I have a low risk pregnancy only been seen my the midwife a handful of time. Thankyou sorry it's so long !

Hi OP 👋
Also 35 weeks and I feel exactly like you! Shooting pains in the pelvis and lower back pain, period pains the lot. I've been taking some paracetamol to ease the period pains which seems to work.
However in your case, if you think you've leaked a bit of fluid, I'd give your MAU a call and they will give you an internal and swabs to make sure you're not leaking amniotic fluid, or you've gone into early labour.
Hope you're ok and good luck!

Thankyou. Been trying to contact her but no luck yet. I went into hospital on Saturday night as had contractions for over two hours non stop every few minutes. They did a speculum so see if I my cervix was open (it was closed) and a test to see if labour was about to start that was negative. It was so brutal they don't seem to use gel anymore apparently 😬 so that was super uncomfortable in fact I'm a little tender from having it done so I'm super worried about having another one so soon after now 🙈 pregnancy is such a guessing game sometimes. I worry I overthink it too especially now I have finished work and have time on my hands.

I would get yourself down to triage for a check if your having lower back pain and have had water in your knickers etc..
I was 36 weeks with similar symptoms, low risk pregnancy, thinking braxton hicks, went to triage just for a check as pains were getting worse.. Turned out I was 4cm dialited and in active labour! My son was born 9 hours later 4 weeks early.

I've had the speculum with no gel, it was a real treat 😳😫😬
If you don't want to go back in to hospital just yet, just keep an eye on your pains and see how you go. Your body will tell you anyway (if you know what I mean) so you will know if something is going on and whether baby is ready to make an experience!
I'm jealous you've finished work! I've got two weeks left and now wishing I'd finished earlier! 😂

Thinking that's what I might do see if I feel worse etc. Being low risk im always made to feel like I'm wasting there time even tho I have only been in twice the entire time I have been pregnant. 🙈 I'm a hairdresser so standing all those hours just wasn't possible for me plus social distancing isn't an option either. So once I had got all my clients done and caught up with the covid backlog I finished last week and was so ready. Lol 🤩

Thinking I may see if my pain gets worse throughout the day. I have no plans just home anyway. Always feel like I'm wasting there time sometimes. How was your back pain may I ask ? All lower down? Did you feel the need to take Paracetamol to ease the pain? I did have a back massage last Thursday so my back felt great. So that fact it's come back lower down so soon makes me question it. 🤔

I've still got mine. Had it since last week but baby is shuffling a lot so I think he's trying to get in the right position so he's engaged and the pressure on my pelvis is where the pain is coming from. That's my thought process anyway.
He's definitely moved as I barely slept last night as my braxton hicks were a real treat to try and sleep through!
Nothing is consistent with me so unknown it's just baby getting ready, though not cooked just yet!
Paracetamol does help ease the aches but the sharp pains don't seem to go anywhere!
And don't ever feel like you're a nuisance! I'm low risk and I've been into hospital a fair bit in my third trimester! They want you to be checked out and will never think you're a nuisance! My MW's are amazing and will do everything they can for you!
I'd see how you go but don't be afraid to call the MAU again. Even if you were only there on Saturday! You and your baby are far too important to feel you need to stay away from the hospital!
If you do go in just take your hospital bag just in case! 👍🏻

My back pain was all lower back pain with the period paib like cramps, I took a bath and some paracetamol which did help ease the pain, but wasn't long till it all came back again.

I would deffo get yourself checked out, your never wasting anyone's time!

I felt the exact same, I was so convinced it was braxton hicks as I was a low risk pregnancy, no issues at all during my pregnancy, it was my husband that encouraged me to go to triage, I wanted to wait and see and 'it'll probably be gone tomorrow' attitude but I'm glad I did go, as like I said above, I was in labour!!

No advice but i feel the same. Period pains, backache, pressure and increased toilet visits for number 2, feeling sick and braxton hicks. I'm 34 weeks on Wednesday.

How are you doing? Also think you should get things checked out.
If it makes you feel any better about it, they’ll be able to use gel this time - the reason they sometimes don’t is because the test for possible preterm labour (fetal fibronectinswab) can be affected by gel, giving an inaccurate result. That test is generally only done up until 34+6, So most likely if you need a speculum it’ll be less uncomfortable this time!
Don’t feel bad about going back in, that’s what they’re there for.

Hi everyone. Little UPDATE
I rang my midwife she sent me to the day unit at the hospital to be looked at. Waters arnt leaking which is great news. Baby is measuring big so they have booked me in for a scan where they will just look at my waters as well etc. Feeling super reassured now. Thankyou all for your advice and comments ☺️ looks like I'm not get in labour but been told to take Paracetamol for the pain for now and see how I go.

I'm glad they've checked you over. Maybe I should mention to my midwife how I'm feeling after all!

Another update.
Thankyou to everyone that told me to go get checked yesterday. My growth scan I had today came back that her abdominal circumference is off the charts to big. She's currently above the 97th centile line. Also weighing whopping 6lb 13oz (I'm 35 weeks 1 day) just three weeks ago she was 4lb 7oz I'm also only size 8-10 myself 🙈😳 I don't know much at the moment except the midwife will call me first thing tomorrow. According to my notes I seem to be carrying alot more amniotic fluid than normal. Crazy to think I have all this happening now after a very straight forward and easy pregnancy. So thankyou to everyone that told me to check myself out as if I didn't I would be none the wiser to what ever is happening right now.

At least they are keeping a close eye on you OP. They going to test you for GD seeing as though baby has had a growth spurt in such a short space of time?
Do keep us posted on how you're doing 💐

@lockdownpregnancy I currently don't know what there plans are at the moment. Only got a brief idea of what's happening from my actual scan and my notes. Hopefully more information in the morning 🤞🏼 sure explains the sudden back pain and how heavy my belly has been feeling recently 🙈

I have this exact same thing. Big baby and too much fluid. They tested me for gestational diabetes which I did have in the end, and I am now being induced at 39 weeks. Also had exactly the same kind of symptoms as you and went to the hospital on Saturday as I thought my waters were leaking but they werent. My belly is massive! Hope it all works out for you!

@UrsulaSings if you don't mind me asking what is the weight of your baby ? Did they give you an estimate of what your baby will be at 39 weeks. I'm worried about how big she will get within another few weeks. 😓 I'd she's already 6lb 13oz at 35 weeks. 😬 My first born was only 7lb 13oz born and she was 12 days over due 🙈

He was estimated to be 8lb exactly at 37+3. The scan I had at 34 weeks put him at 5lb 15oz I think? So he put on over 2lb in 3 weeks apparently...

I've been told bigger babies can be easier to birth. It will be ok I'm sure!

@UrsulaSings I will tell myself that also then lol that bigger babies are easier to birth 🙈😂 I have another scan booked and a consultant appointment when I hit 37 weeks and 1 day. Intrigued and scared of how much weight she may have gained in this time 😬 we will see currently being tested for GD just in case. XX
