Pregnancy

Looking slimmer everywhere except bump

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have gained around 8lbs so far. My bump is a good/big size and growing steadily.
I genuinely think my arms, legs and face look slimmer though. Is that possible or do they just look small in comparison to my big belly and boobs? Grin
Anyone else lost weight in the rest of their body when pregnant?

I've put on over 2 stone at 28 weeks (😬) but the only place I've got bigger is bump and boobs!!

I'm just glad I've not totally ballooned (yet...) 🤣

I think you gain most weight in your second trimester so you might not gain much more.
I think I'd put on about 2 stone with my first by this point, not sure why it's so much less this time. I probably sit still a lot less this time round.

Yes @boysnamehelpplease same for me. I’m 32 weeks and I’ve put on just over a stone - 16lb I think at the moment - most of which has happened in the last 4 weeks. I didn’t gain any weight at all in the first 20 weeks and lost at the start. People say I just look like I’ve got a football up my top. My face/arms/legs are just the size they’ve always been. I’m still scared I’m going to ‘blow up’ in this last bit but people assume me it would have happened already!
As long as baby is measuring the right size at your midwife appointments it’s nothing to worry about. My midwife said I shouldn’t even be weighing myself.

Everyone said I looked slimmer (bar the bump!) during pregnancy. I’m convinced it was because I was looking after myself better! No more boozy nights etc Grin
That said I’m a week postpartum and swiftly realising the big bump made my arms look slimmer - either that or I’ve put on weight since she was born... so I think there’s definitely an element of optical illusion to it.
