Afternoon all,

I have recently moved into the area and my ante-natal care is now under Epsom Hospital. I have not been that impressed by the level of care, staffing or communication I have had in comparison to my first birth (at Kingston Hospital).

It is making me feel very nervous. Has anyone had any recent experience of giving birth at Epsom Hospital (or with the Home Birth Team)?

TIA x

I've just switched from St. Helier to Epsom. Got my 12 week scan on Monday so will be interested in hearing peoples thoughts!

I had 2 children at Epsom and with complications in both pregnancies received a fantastic level of care. Could not fault it. Hopefully this puts your mind at rest.

Update: So had my 12 week scan this morning and everything to my relief is as it should be.

They litterally just do the scan, do everything they need to do.....you listen to the HB for 1 sec and you are out.

I then went to see the midwife who ran through a few things regarding next appointment, blood test and urine sample.

I said I had a couple of questions and the midwife told me to call the NHS midwife hotline when I got home!!

Will keep this thread updated if it helps anyone!

I had a baby with the Epsom & St Helier home birth team in 2018. If my current (v early) pregnancy sticks I will absolutely go for the same again, the care I had was fantastic. I couldn't have asked for better.

Thank you all for the messages.

I'm now in the position where a home birth is not on the cards at all as they think I may have developed gestational diabetes although every test /marker along the way was negative.

I don't have long left so may well end up being induced this week or next so will update on my experience if /when it happens!

Good luck to everyone currently working your way through your pregnancy!

Hey there, how far along are you ? I'm only 9 weeks and self referred with Epsom. I had a phone call from the midwife when first referring we just had a little just congratulated and told me if anything suspicious to happen to give them a call, was sent my booking in app which is tomorrow via phone call and my 12 week scan on 24 sept otherwise that's all I've had haven't actually been there and won't until 24th sept they will do bloods and urine for me then too.
