Should you worry about movements at 25 weeks?

I've had regular movements from 20 weeks, normally very big make-my-belly move ones. The last couple of days I've still had movements but haven't seen my belly move and they've felt less like kicks and just like some other sort of movements. Today I've felt baby move early this morning but nothing this afternoon and the ones this morning were again only a couple and quite small.

I don't know whether to worry or not? I know movement patterns aren't established until 28 weeks, I'll be 26 tomorrow, and I'm still getting movements they're just not what they used to be. So maybe baby has just moved position?

I've tried ice water, chocolate, a warm shower, lying down, and jiggling my belly. Anything else to try or should I not worry as I'm not in my third trimester yet?

I was at the hospital on Thursday for a consultant appointment and heartbeat was nice and strong then at 140bpm.

Any change to movements after 24 weeks is reason to call. If you are worried in any way, CALL.

Thank you, took a long time to get through on the advice line and they've said it's probably fine and baby has just moved to a new position but to go down to the hospital and they'll listen to the heartbeat just in case.

Any time you’re worried after you feel like you’d been feeling movements then you should call. Baby is still quite small at the moment but I was in the same situation as you and have been in twice for reduced movements at 22 and 24 weeks, now at 32 weeks, movements are much stronger than 6 weeks ago and I think the pattern just wasn’t established yet but I’m glad I went and I was reassured and made to feel like I’d done the right thing. I would go again immediately if I was concerns about movements in any way.
Hopefully you feel reassured after hearing your little ones HB. X

I went in and had to wait for over an hour as they were so busy. Still not one tiny flutter, then the midwife put the Doppler on and together we watched my belly lurch with a giant kick Hmm

Baby's still been pretty quiet ever since but at least I know everything's alright! And she didn't make me feel silly for going in.

Glad everything went ok! I had something similar at 24 weeks! Make sure you always go in if your worried though it's so worth it and they never mind x

Has anyone experienced a constant hard stomach.. I'm 32 weeks and I have read about Braxton Hicks, however I read they come and go, I seem to constantly have a hard stomach.. I have noticed it the last few days now

I'm going to text my midwife tomorrow and mention it, but just wondering if anyone has this as well and if it's normal or cause for concern?!

Hi OP, I’m 25 weeks too and have loads of variety in my movements too. Some days it’s constant and other days much quieter. My understanding was that they don’t settle into anything more predictable until around 28 weeks. Of course get checked out when you need to (I definitely wouldn’t tell you not to) but I do think some variation is expected at this stage.

@Ciara04Siobhan im 26 weeks and my stomach feels hard and heavy. Only when im up and walking though. When I lie down it’s soft. Did you text your midwife? I’ve ordered a pregnancy belt because it’s giving me back pain too.

@Ciara04Siobhan my tummy goes solid a lot for a couple days then gets a little softer - my midwife wasn’t worried about it when I mentioned says it’s probably my skin stretching after baby has a growth spurt then relaxing a bit before the next one lol. Been this way since 25 weeks and I’m now 38 weeks Smile
