This article is a load of crap, right?
It is terrifying so hope this is just one of those bad internet articles.
I eat these fruits daily...

I can't use the link (likely me, I often can't on here) but the only page you should be using for what to and not to eat is the NHS page. You can send yourself crazy reading everything else. I don't remember cutting any fruit out. I know pregnancy can be a stressful time.

Did you read the actual article though? Or just the list? It is not terrifying because even they admit that much of what they discuss is “considered safe” but they think “it is a good idea to consume fresh” (ie not frozen or tinned). Are you in the U.K.?

Don't read shit like that. Everything in moderation, except alcohol, drugs and smoking 😂 and I can tell you right now, titanic portions of pineapple did absolutely NOTHING to help kickstart my previous three labours. Zilch.

I've had previous miscarriage and this is an IVF pregnancy. I only found out about pineapple being allegedly risky yesterday (I'm 25 weeks) It was one of about 2 foods that I could stomach in my first trimester and I ate it by the bucket load. I'm still pregnant and the pineapple caused no issues! I honestly ate a hall of a lot of it.

That’s because there is no evidence that bromelain causes contractions.

Dates I've eaten loads of, they've become my emergency snack I carry around with me for if I start feeling nauseous. I've eaten most things on the list. It's just frustrating when you're trying to eat well and something's telling you it's all bad. I try and look for uk websites and follow what the nhs says. Everything in moderation 🙂

@Vicalam also got dates for the snacks as it's easy to eat and helps with the nausea sometimes...
It is so frustrating! I avoid processed foods and try to get stuff with vitamins all this trying to manage morning sickness.

I think this article is misleading and worrying for no reason. But just wanted to make sure!

This article is just click bait rubbish.
No wonder you have women coming posting in here terrified because they drank tap water.

The points they make are very tenuous. I should think that if I had an allergy to bananas I would be avoiding them anyway, and if you managed to eat enough watermelon to harm your baby (you won’t, it’s safe) I should think you would come across other problems first!
My midwife told me to eat dates. If running doesn’t raise my body temperature enough to harm my baby, I don’t think a date is going to do it.

Honestly. A lot of these pregnancy and parenting websites are absolute trash.

Definitely stuck to the NHS website. I use canned tomatoes in all my cooking and I'm 30 weeks pregnant with no problems. I did the same, googling everything I can and can't eat at the start of the pregnancy which just made me sick with worry and felt like I couldn't eat anything! Pushed that anxiety away and now I can't stop eating everything 😂

That was my point @Shesapunkpunk. As others have said, just follow the NHS guidelines and try not to worry too much!

I hate pages like this. With a passion. What is this based on? Scientific evidence. It's utter rubbish, surely? Surely this just fuels utter anxiety in done anxious women? Angry

No tinned tomatoes. Or anything tinned?

An excess of watermelon that causes blood sugars to spike? What a load of shit! How many watermelons would you need to eat to make that happen? 3?

These pages, that fuel anxiety should he removed!

There are crappy studies out there to pretty much prove everything under the sun is bad for you, and an equal number of ones to contradict them. If there is solid scientific proof to say something is bad, the NHS are usually quite vocal about it.

I just made sure I washed fruit very well when I was pregnant second time (normally I don't bother). I was extra anxious for two reasons, a miscarriage I'd had and also here in the uk a lot of our fruit comes from Spain and there was a particularly bad listeria outbreak there. Wasnt reported much here but my uncle lives there and posted on Facebook about it causing deaths in some vulnerable people in Spain.

That article is just full of pseudo-science bullshit and says a lot of stuff that is completely wrong. Two examples: 1) Frozen fruits have less nutrients. No they don't - often more as frozen when fresh. 2) 'eating watermelon during pregnancy may expose the baby to the various toxins that the watermelon flushes out' Hmm. Not even sure where to start on this one. Your body has a very efficient filtration system that means this wouldn't happen, even if it were possible for watermelon to flush out toxins Hmm. Anyway it's a load of cobblers. Stick to the nhs advice and stop scaring yourself with this rubbish.

I have eaten so much pineapple in this pregnancy and I'm absolutely fine and due in 6 weeks. I love pineapple and if I could be bothered to cut them up more often then I'd be eating it daily 🤣
