Spotting - 3/4 weeks pregnant!

so I find myself writing this just for a little bit of hope and other people's stories.

I found out I was pregnant with baby no2 about 2 days ago. I'm unsure exactly how far I am as I'm pretty sure inoculated later than expected. My first day of LMP was 6th July which puts me at "4 weeks 4 days" but I personally believe I'm earlier than that. Anyway, since the day I found out I've spotted on and off every day. I'm so afraid I'm losing the baby, I know nothing can be done if I am, but because we actually tried for this baby it's making me worry so much more. I bled/spotted with my previous pregnancy so I'm aware it can happen and all be okay, but I can't remember if it was as frequent as this.

I'm definitely going to book in for an early scan but I also kind of don't want too incase I get told the worst.

The spotting I have is sometimes really light pink/orange and then I have had spells of bright red and one or two wipes worth. Never enough to show on a pad if I was to wear one apart from last night I felt a "drop" of what felt like wee but turned out to be a red drop of blood on my pyjama shorts. So god knows. I have had 0 pain. Sorry for the long post i just hope somebody has had a similar experience 💗

I know you probably don't want to hear what I am going to say but I have read so many stories on here that people bled and went on to have a healthy pregnancy

Unfortunately in my case when I was pregnant in June I experienced light bleeding for 3 days before I started to get cramps and I miscarried..

Its one of them things where you cant do anything to stop it.. I know you are probably out of your mind with worry but just relax and keep an eye on the bleeding..

In my case I booked a scan the day before I miscarried and I was told everything is OK and the baby is doing well and the bleeding is implantation bleeding and obviously being told that to losing my baby I wish I just let nature take its course rather than getting my hopes up

I really hope it is implantation bleeding for you keep my updated xxx

@DublinGirl93 so sorry for your loss, it's so awful isn't it.

I've had a missed miscarriage before but I had bleeding in that too, but only light. Then had a d and c.

I'm on day 3 today and not had any cramping just the on and off spotting, but yeah if it's going to be it will be. Il soon find out in a few days I'm sure 💗

In the same position I have been having brown spotting since Monday and I had been nauseous etc up to Tuesday and I felt a change. Line was getting stronger up to Tuesday (free 6.5miu) but still saying not pregnant on clear blue (25miu) then Wednesday frer test it was a bit more faint and yesterday it was the same (maybe slightly stronger). Today the free test is more faint but the clear blue finally came up saying pregnant 1-2 weeks. But I have now started red bleeding and it feels like a period bleed (not just when I wipe). And I am having bad cramps too. I am pretty sure it's over for me and just hoping it is nothing more complicated :(. Early pregnant clinic wouldn't see me until next week. I really hope things work out for you - have you tried early pregnancy clinic?

Implantation bleed by the sounds of it - could be twins

@Mamainmaking1 it's so awful not knowing isn't it. Mine isn't as heavy as period but I just have a bad feeling. And because of covid my pregnancy unit won't just scan me because of it unless I was heavily bleeding, I have my fx for us both 💗

@littlebillie can implantation really last 3 days with on and off spotting? Oh lord twins 😂

Definatly not any kind of implantation bleeding for me have been bleeding heavily from yesterday morning and the cramps were terrible. I just really want it to be over now so that I know it's not something even nastier like etopic etc Sad so so disappointed but I had myself prepared as I felt a cease of pregnancy symptoms on Tuesday and lines weren't getting darker! How are you getting on? @pineapplejuice20

@Mamainmaking1 so last night i had a little more than spotting but still not enough to be a "period" type of bleed if that makes sense. But still more than I'd like to of seen. Still 0 cramping. This morning went to the loo when I looked in the bowl my wee was red and when I wiped there was again a lot more than spotting, but now it's totally stopped! And still no cramping. But I'm more than convinced I'm losing it to me it just doesn't sit right, nevertheless I've got an early scan in 2 weeks which my partner paid for but I don't have my hopes up. So horrible isn't it the unknown. Wish it could be over if I am so I can try again :(

Hi OP. Some women have breakthrough bleeding at about the same time their periods would be due, so at about 4 weeks and 8 weeks pregnant. It's so difficult not knowing, isn't it? Just keep an eye on it. No cramping with it is perhaps a good sign, although cramping in early pregnancy is common too, so even if you did, it may not mean anything bad. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

How are you getting on @pineapplejuice20? Really hope things are going ok for you and it was just a scare. I have bled for the last 4 days but like you I was nearly just wanting it over as I knew that was where it was going. Never thought I would be glad to see negitive pregnancy test but I was because I didn't want it to be something nastier like etopic etc. Keep me posted on how you are doing and I will keep everything crossed for you!

@Mamainmaking1 so I went to the doctors yesterday and got referred for a scan and blood test at my local hospital and they couldn't see the pregnancy so either I'm too early or I've miscarried, they said my womb lining was too thin though. But my blood tests confirm I'm pregnant and so does my urine test. So I've got "pregnancy of unknown location" but they don't believe it's ectopic either due to not having any pain but now I'm scared! Just want it over with so we can try again. Just feel a bit numb!

Well you are still pretty early so there is the possibility that it might be too early to detect on a scan? When I rang the EPC last week they told me there would be no point coming for atleast another 2 weeks to really be able to see anything at all on the scan. But I know how you feel excatly I reached that point when my frers etc started to go down I just wanted it over with. I feel completely the same I nearly forget that it's been and gone and it's so sad but I'm trying to stay positive and look towards the next cycle as so many people get sticky bfps the next few cycles after chemicals as they leave you more fertile. Keep me posted on how you are doing I will keep hoping for the best!!

@Mamainmaking1 @pineapplejuice20 following this thread as I've been having some pink/red streak spotting at 4+1 (17 DPO) and I'm worried my pregnancy isn't sticking. I had a chemical in my first month TTC in January and then it took until now for me to get my second BFP I just pray it's going to stick 😢 wishing you both the best too 💕 it's just never easy!

Really hope it works out for you, how did you chemical pan out last time? Mine this time started with brown spotting last mon which seems very normal from reading online but it was every day and on Friday I started properly bleeding red blood and only finished yesterday. Really hope with one is sticking for you, have you had any help with this one or any thing such as progesterone etc? I often wonder if I had of asked my Dr for progesterone would it potentially of helped baby stick? Think it is hard to get but possibly worth a try. And they say low dose asprin is also something given for recurrent miscarriage as it helps blood flow in uterus - that's something you can buy yourself. Really wish there was more we could do to help, will the early pregnancy clinic see you due to last chemical ? @2020mission

@Mamainmaking1 my last chemical happened right at 4 weeks. I had tested a couple of days early and each day the tests got lighter until I bled when AF was due so I never got to speak to any midwife/GP since it all happened so soon.

Because of last time, I've been holding off on calling the maternity unit to book in after I got my BFPs so I'm not in contact with anyone so far. I'm still spotting today but have no cramping or anything... yet. I'm going to give it a couple of days and see what happens. I'll test again on Friday morning and if it's still positive I'll call my local maternity unit and speak to them.

If it's a chemical again I'm with you on seeking out something to help like progesterone or if that fails maybe try low dose aspirin as you suggested! It's so upsetting after getting attached to the thought of having a baby/family for a week and then it's gone.

@pineapplejuice20 🙌 brilliant! Our bodies are awful for causing such stress for nothing 😅

I'll let you all know how my test tomorrow goes. I'm on day 2 of spotting but I've had no cramping so hoping it will stick.

I bled from start to finish in my last pregnancy and everything was fine. I’m currently 9 weeks with my second and the bleeding is back. A scan this week showed all was well. This just seems to be how my pregnancies go.
