TTC / possible very early pregnancy and UTI antibiotics

I have a UTI (brought on by TTC !) and have tried to cure it with cranberry juice, Probiotics and drinking tonnes of water. But it has not gone so I ordered some antibiotics for it via Superdrug doctors.

Mentioned I was TTC but got them, they arrive today.

But am now concerned that they’re not a good idea to take if I’m very very early pregnant?! (I’m only on cycle day 16 and honestly probably not pregnant anyway as I’ve been TTC for months now.)

Anyone got any experience with UTI and early pregnancy / TTC? Really need to take the antibiotics, but concerned I’ll be doing harm if I am pregnant...

Hi @Seasider6!
I am in exactly the same situation. Currently 2 DPO and woken up today with a nasty UTI, I can’t sit still Sad
I’ve had a telephone consultation with GP and advised her that I’m TTC - she has prescribed antibiotics which she said are safe for early pregnancy just in case. Didn’t think to ask what they are called but I’ll be picking them up in a couple of hours so I’ll let you know!

Thank you, Paigey! Good to know some are safe. I took them in the end as I was in too much pain and worried it would get worse! UTI completely gone now (although I’m having PMS symptoms so don’t reckon I’m pregnant anyway!).

I took Nitrofurantoin, which was prescribed by an online doc. Not sure if that’s the same as yours?

Good luck - hope yours goes fast and you get the bfp!

Yep I got a three day course of Nitrofurantoin too! Good to know it’s safe to use whilst TTC as I can just see this being a recurring issue Confused. Good luck to you and fingers crossed for your BFP xx
