Tips to get through last few weeks of pregnancy...

As you may have guessed from the title, I am ready for this to be over. I seem to have that third trimester impatience. Please spam me with reasons why I should actually be desperate to stay pregnant for a longer time! 😂 I'm 34 weeks and my groin hurts, I'm overly bloated and swollen!

I hated every minute of being pregnant and was desperate to get my girl out. I ended off going over, which irritated me no end, but now that she's here it was all worth it but make the most of eating whatever you want until your baby gets here haha.

Yes - eat all the lovely food! Are you on maternity leave yet? The other thing I would recommend doing is luxuriating in bed and enjoying the silence grin

@maria2bela - I feel your pain and discomfort presently as well. I am officially 35 weeks tomorrow and feel and look like a swollen whale. I’ve got bad edema, pre eclampsia (I’m seeing a few spots these days, experiencing a swollen face & hands) so I’m totally with you!
When is your DD? I’ve got my c-section booked for Friday, 28 Aug - I am on countdown!!! This is my last pregnancy and baby (#3), so very excited, but honestly hate pregnancy 😕😩... 24 days to go!! 🤩🥳

35+3 here, I'm torn between being fed up of being constantly uncomfortable, and nowhere near feeling ready to be a parent! 😂 4 weeks or so seems like a very long time away and not at the same time... Everything is ready, stuff wise - just not me! Just remember that everything is about to change forever and that we should be enjoying the peaceful, relaxing, selfish few weeks we have left grin

Make plans!

Try to organise something for every other day. I would (pre-Covid!) book to get my nails done, meet mum for lunch, see my sister for dinner, head out for food with DH.

Nothing too exciting or strenuous, but enough that I was looking forward to the next few days as opposed to just obsessing about my due date. Didn’t stop me getting furious at around 38 weeks each time when I had had my fill of pregnancy!

I’m nearly 37 weeks & have definitely been ready for him to come from about 32 weeks 🤦🏼‍♀️ However, I don’t have my hospital bag packed & still need to get things so he needs to wait another week or so lol! Considering so much has been shut throughout the majority of my pregnancy I am using these last few weeks to enjoy good food again!

Read books. Sleep late. Do things you enjoy that would be far too complicated to do with a newborn. If you feel confident to do so within the current restrictions, get your hair/nails/whatever done, if that’s your thing, and go for dinner.

It must have been rubbish being pregnant during lockdown.

THIS. DC1 was born at 41+4. I was going crazy towards the end. Now pregnant with DC2 and thinking of my due date at 41 weeks and that I might go past that (if baby is early I'll have a shock!)

My tips are similar to PPs, treat yourself to things like a pedicure or massage or meal out with your partner, sister or friend (lockdown and budget permitting!), try and enjoy some rest, baths, reading books, binging tv.... if you want to do practical things you could declutter and batch cook, but honestly just take it easy and make the most of being able to focus just on yourself before your life gets turned upside down!

Sleep! Sleep sleep sleep and sleep some more. Then when you think you can't sleep any more, sleep some more grin
Enjoy eating hot food, faffy food.

Great tips as always! I didn't mention that I have a 1 year old too!! So all the recommendations for rest and peaceful time to myself will be sadly going over my head 🙈. I wasn't this impatient with my first, have no idea why this time around I'm so eager...I still need a crib and a swing, anyone have any recommendations for swings? X
