If you were overdue and induced, when did your 2nd baby arrive?

I gave birth to my daughter at 42+2 (accepted the induction when it was offered, but it took 5 days... Don't ask!). There was no sign she would have gone anywhere on her own!

I don't know many people who have ever been 41 or more weeks pregnant. If you were very overdue with your first, when did your second come?

I was similar to you with my first. With my second, I was slightly over term - about a week? but determined not to be induced. Contractions started about 6am one morning and I had her just before 9.30 so 3.5 hrs labour

@over50andfab Thanks! I'm so glad it was more straightforward for you second time around.

I was induced with my first at 42 + weeks, which also didn't budge him and ended up with a c-section. 2nd was headed the same way, so at 41 weeks and no sign of baby coming I skipped the induction and asked for (and got!) a c-section.

Following. Had 86 hour from first contractions to arrival last time (NO sleep, which was really the worst part of it). Was 40+5 when she finally showed up. Hoping it might go slightly more smoothly this time... I hear second babies tend to be faster?

Induced late in the day at 42+0 with 1st baby, she was born 4am at 42+2 (so around 36 hours after starting induction?). My second was born spontaneously at 38+5! Waters broke the night before, contractions started overnight and she was born at 10am ish.

First was induced at 13 days over. It was not an experience I ever want to repeat so when they looked to induce the second I refused. Hind waters broke at 6 days over and it went naturally from there. A much more pleasant experience. Currently expecting number 3 and I’m hoping for a similar experience to number 2!

@physicskate 100% agree - the lack of sleep was brutal. People kept asking us when the baby was about 2 weeks old if we were exhausted, and we kept explaining that we were getting more sleep than in the hospital!

The recovery was very very tough on so little sleep - I sympathize!

I was 12 days over with my first and induced. Then went 12 days over with my second and she came naturally (well after a sweep) took about 3.5 hours.
Pregnant with my 3rd now and hoping this one comes naturally too Grin

Good question OP! I was induced at 12 days overdue with my first and pregnant again, so have been wondering the same thing!

Induced at 42+3 with dc1.
Dc2 arrived on their EDD 😀

Induced at 42 weeks exactly with the first. Also had to be induced with the second, this time at 10 days overdue (moved house in between so different hospital policy).

It actually took longer second time around, but was much less scary and stressful as I'd been through it before.

Spontaneous labour with first DC with second DC was induced at 41+4 from first contraction to baby being born it was 30 minutes, MW didn't believe I was in active labour as contraction's were all over the place lol, with DC 3 I was induced at 38 weeks had pessary put in but was taken out after 20 minutes as it worked straight away and I was contracting every 2 minutes, they thought taking it out would slow the contraction's but they were wrong and baby was born 5 hours later after my waters were broken x
