The gross subject of baby boogers to add to the list of gross baby things...

This is probably one of those where they are pretty much the same but wondered if people had recommendations

So far have narrowed it down to the snufflebabe and nosefrida...is one any better than the other?

Literally none of these work as well as using your mouth. Grim, but effective.

I’m afraid the only thing that really works is your own mouth. It sounds disgusting but you won’t care 😫

Snufflebabe. My favourite part of parenting Grin

Use your mouth, just make sure you do it near a sink, I learned that one the hard way.

Oh god none of them. You don't need them. The concept is gross and I don't think it's very healthy to stick things up a baby's nose. The snot is there for a reason. If you need to loosen it squirt some breast milk up there or you can buy saline drops at the chemist which work as well. And snuffle babe rubbed on their chest.

I've never used my mouth btw either!

I can’t remember now but I’m sure I used snuffle babe

Came in handy when any of the dc had colds and were struggling

Is there not a nasal aspirator people use? Or are you literally using your mouths? 😩

Saline drops worked well, then I would just remove the horrible crust whilst she was having a feed

I have the nose Frieda, works fine. Haven't tried the other, looks a similar set up having just has a look at it. Can't imagine there's much difference. It's a gross yet strangely satisfying task! 😂 Hope baby's feeling better soon

You’ll be surprised what you’re driven to when the sucky thing won’t work and the baby won’t sleep because it’s bunged up and so you can’t sleep till the baby does. And you think I bet I could just suck that out and then I can go to sleep...

Suck, spit, sorted... 😬

I never found they work and with both my DC I’ve never used my mouth; saline drops have helped though when my DS was congested and struggling to feed

RegalRags · 26/07/2020 20:17

I use a nose Frida and it works well.
You don't need to shove it up the baby's nose! Just sits at the end of the nostril and you suck without risk of getting snot in your mouth.

As much as I love my child there's no chance I'm sucking snot out using my own mouth.

I did not know this was a thing! I just use saline drops/spray and tilt the head of the cot up.

Can’t believe people suck it out with their mouth 🤮 utterly disgusting! I used a snufflebabe and it was brilliant.

Dramaofallama · 26/07/2020 21:11

I agree with the others, I bought one and it was useless, my son also wouldnt stay still long enough for me to use it.

I definitely recommend the saline drops from snuffle baby and also calpol plug ins (i think they are for 2 or 3 months plus though).
