Bouncer/Rocker

Hey all, I was just wondering does anyone have advice on a rocker/bouncer that can be used from new born? I'm due in a few weeks and gathering the last bits. I was looking at the nuna leaf grow but its expensive and don't want to buy if its a waste. So if anyone has any advice that would be great. Thanks

I've been lent the Baby Bjorn one which I've heard is the best. I think its a bit more portable that the nuna leaf.

I've done a lot of research into this recently and think I'm going for the Baby Bjorn bouncer if that's any help!

We had a fancy rocker which cost about £100. And we had a cheapo bouncy chair which was from asda and cost £10, which I was planning to use in the garden or when travelling.

I've gone for a preloved fisher price birth to toddler rocker as it'll last a bit longer.

We got the Baby Bjorn when DS was about 4 months and wish we'd had it since birth! I couldn't believe how expensive it was and was shocked that people would spend so much on such a simple bouncer BUT after reading such good reviews we got one secondhand for £50 and it's brilliant!

It's been a complete lifesaver. My DS sits in it all the time while I'm getting on with other stuff and loved napping in it. It's so easy to fold up and store and is stylish (I've never been into garish bright colours!)

Unfortunately, now he's 9 months old we have to stop using it as he's trying to stand up in it.

I also had the BabyBjorn - expensive but brilliant. I was given another chair (FisherPrice I think) but my baby hated it. He hated the music and vibrations and would scream the moment I put him in it. But with the BabyBjorn he just fell asleep! It lasts for ages too.

We have the Joie wish petite city. It’s about £40 so not too expensive. It vibrates which sends DS to sleep if he’s drowsy. The annoying thing with bouncers is that they can’t be left unattended. DH is wfh so we move it next to his desk if DS falls asleep so he can watch him whilst I nap.

Another baby bjorn recommendation. They’re fantastic. Get one second hand on eBay - they’re fully washable.

We’ve borrowed/tried/bought several rockers, swings and chairs over three babies and fifteen years. The basic bouncy chair of fabric stretched over metal frame (£10-20) hours as always the babies’ preference. 🤷🏽‍♀️

For me its between the Nuna Leaf and Baby Bjorn so interesting to hear others comments.

I still cant get over how expensive for what looks so basic the baby bjorn one is but everyone seems to rave about it. It also seems to keep its value quite well. I've seen them going for £100 second hand with postage option on ebay, where as the Nuna seem cheaper despite being more expensive in the first place.

From what I've gathered the Nuna has to be pushed a lot more as the movement only lasts a couple of mins plus it's not easy to put away or move around the house. For that reason I'm tempted to go for baby bjorn.

We’re being lent a Baby Bjorn and I’m interested to try it out. I’ve heard nothing bad about them (except the price). Last time, we were lent another brand and the bloody thing hardly bounced at all! It looks very easy for baby to bounce itself in the Baby Bjorn.

Yes Fizzing they’re really well balanced which I assume is where the expense comes in. It’s not immediately obvious when you look at them but they’re so easy for a baby to bounce itself in (or you with your foot!) compared to others.

I got a cheap Chad valley bouncer from argos a few months ago. As others have said they all basically just bounce/vibrate so I don't think you'd get any advantage out of paying lots of money for one, and the baby won't be interested in the toys side of it for a couple of months - even then they may not be fussed x

The babybjorn we use daily with almost 3 month old. Super light which is the key thing for use as we move it around house, baby could bounce it themselves from newborn. The nuna is very heavy, I wouldn't buy if you will want to move around at all
(the bjorn i can move in one hand, and baby in other arm. its been in living room, kitchen and garden so far today)

Its expensive. but I worked out if we used every day for 6 months it worked out about 50p per day, which seemed a bargain for peace and quiet. Its technically useable up to 2 years so would work out even cheaper if you did
