Private scan at 30 weeks

Hi all! Me and DH have just come home from a private scan and it was so amazing to actually share it with my DH.
With the pandemic he has not been part of any of my appointments or scans so I paid for a private scan to see our lil man and it was perfect 💙 my DH was so chuffed to see our little boy on the big screen, it was worth every penny to see how happy he was.
We have video footage of our lil man sticking his tongue out and it's just too cute!
However, when the sonographer took baby's femur measurements it was 5.29cm which is 2 weeks behind where we are at. He was completely squashed and she did say it's not 100% accurate which I totally get but On checking google (I know, I know!!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️) it says baby is 5% tile. Is this normal?
It doesn't say and now I'm panicking a little bit! 😬😬😬

I can remember having these sort of worries but they were unfounded. On return from the hospital after a scan, I called them to ask if they thought my child may have a form dwarfism as he had a big head and short femurs on those whisker diagram things. He has usual length legs but definitely a top percentile head circumference.

@KLM19 my husband is 6ft and I'm 5ft 5" and neither of us have short legs.
Might mention it to my MW when I see her in a few weeks.
However whilst she is lovely she doesn't seem to want to look into anything I ask her so not really sure what to do!
All being well my boy is fine just a little worrying really when we were told he was 2 weeks behind where he should be. Especially when I keep being told I'm massive!

I'm the same mesuring 4 weeks ahead fundal height but baby boy is only 40th percentile, I would definitely speak to her and hopefully she puts ur mind at ease... NHS will also say growth scans aren't accurate also it all depends on how the wee buggers are lying half the time and all babys have different proportions head abdominal femur ect.

@KLM19 the sonographer said I had a very healthy baby boy so I'm assuming he's all good but my mind wanders and then I make the stupid mistake that I tell everyone on here not to do and I GOOGLED!!! 😫😫😫
He's probably completely fine but I'll have a word when I see my MW in a few weeks 👍🏻

@lockdownpregnancy totally understand!! I've googled everything during this pregnancy we are our own worst enemy. But it's the fear of the unknown and natural to want to know everything is okay!! Xx

Ultrasound gestational growth measurements are far less accurate after 12 weeks. They are inaccurate by give or take 2 weeks! Which is why a lot of people who are told they carrying ‘big’ babies are induced before due date only to find that the baby is only about 5-6 pounds and could’ve actually done with just waiting till he/she was ready to come out on their due date!

Really wouldn’t worry at all. I had a similar thing and there was no problemo in the end. It’s just an estimate! Xx
