Spray for your bits after birth

Morning ladies just looking for recommendations really as I know there is a spray you can buy called spritz for bits but I was just wondering if there was an alternative as that is a bit on the expensive side or is it worth the money?

I just poured water over that area whilst peeing if it stung. Found I didn't need anything else bar paracetamol. I had forceps and ended up with episiotomy and a small tear. I was given spritz for bits by a friend but didn't use it.
Was also given with hazel to pour on sanitary towels but again didn't need it. That's probably cheaper

You can get spritz bottles just for water, I’ve also heard about the sanitary towels in the freezer. Hopefully you won’t need it xx

I googled the ingredients list then made my own, worked brilliantly. Cost me pennies to buy the stuff online (witch hazel, aloe gel and an essential oil from what I can remember).

I just poured warm water out a glass on my bits when I went for a wee. I had stinging for 3 weeks, just kept a glass by the loo and sat really far back on the loo. I’d never even heard of sprays and things until after I had my second child, to be honest I wouldn’t want to be pouring anything on there bar water, worked fine for me anyway.

I used few drops of lavender oil in a sit bath, for about a week, had 2nd degree tear, fair bit of stitches, it worked a treat and healed quickly.

Squeezy water bottle with luke warm water with 2 drops of lavender in, squirt it on your bits whilst weeing, makes it so much more comfortable and helps heal any tears/cuts

I bought it & it was nice but don't think it was worth the money. I'm sure other products (even homemade) could do the same.

What I don't get is why they make it in such a big bottle. Make it half the size for half the cost & i'm sure many more people would buy it.

I used it until my stitches fully healed, about a month and there is still 80% of the bottle left. Cant see any use for it now so seems a waste.

Drenched my bits with jug of water with a few drops of lavender oil all the time. Whist weeing, after weeing, after showering. I think it really helped and it made me feel fresher even if it did sod all.

After birth, one of the midwives recommended a bottle of lavender oil to put on pads, in your bath and on the toilet roll as an anti septic and relaxation, I think if you got a clean spray bottle some boiled cooled water and a few drops of lavender oil in it it would be quite nice

I used it, nearly didnt buy due to price but after I did I thought it was worth every penny, used it at every loo trip with some big cotton pads to pat dry from boots when first returned home then with normal loo roll after a while. I had 2nd degree tears which I think it helped to heal and also made me feel fresher/cleaner, its easy to apply and already prepped and will be buying it next time even though agree its on the expensive side. Im sure cheaper ones are out there too which probably do same thing or could as previous posters say try your own mix.

I got spritz for bits but got it half price, I used to spray it on the pad and my bits.

I had a second degree tear but was very lucky that I had zero Stinging or pain at all after being stitched.

Dunno if it was the spray or pure luck mind, I was very liberal with the spray and did heal in just under 3 weeks.

My friend however just put aloe gell on her pads and whacked them in the fridge and she said it was a god send.

Thank you all,I think I'll just buy some lavender oil then and make my own in a bottle as it sounds like it will do the same thing but work out cheaper!
