Don't know how complete yours is but I had a partial and was told it was unlikely to bleed particularly when lying down. Finally moved at 36weeks with no issues. Try not to worry.

I had complete (major) and was on edge waiting to bleed after being told there was 90% chance. Had my section 10 days ago at 37+5 having never bled! X

I nearly always had my bleeds at night. You’ll definitely know!
He arrived at 36 weeks in the end so held out quite a long time.
Good luckFlowers

Yes. I bled loads of times. Each time I just went straight in and was admitted for a couple of nights. When I bled at 35 weeks I didn’t go home and stayed in for a week before he arrived.
Definitely get a bag together.

@Avearage I did mainly rest... I did some light bits around the house but definitely took it easy x

I'm hoping I get through with no bleeding at allbut will pack a bag just incase.

Are you more likely to have a early section if you bleed or do they try and hold it off? Also I'm on clexane so feels kinda odd that I'm likely to bleed with pp I can't see clexane helping that if I did!!

I rested too, but he was my first (and only) so easier.
Yes if you bleed they are more likely to give you an early section. You will probably be given steroids to mature the baby’s lungs.
I had DS at 36 weeks and did well to hold out that long!

@AnnaMariaDreams did you have to stay in at all once baby was born? Or did you get to go home?

I'm 32 weeks and placenta completely covering and no bleeds yet- they seem really surprised by this everytime I'm asked if I've had any bleeding and I say no.
Didn't ever think about bleeding at night - I better start taking precautions and wear something!

AnnaMariaDreams · 11/07/2020 11:44

I stayed in 2 nights which is pretty normal for a section. He was 6lb 15 though so a good weight for 4 weeks early.

@Apsh2020 that's exactly same for me my midwife is like I really would expect bleeding by now, hence making me wonder am I going to get taken by surprise at night. By wear something are we talking actual pj's or pads 😂..... Was wondering if ladies with pp wear pads just incase it's a whole new thing for me 😂

@AnnaMariaDreams I'm really hoping I could be in and out the next day 🙏 I think this baby is going to be a good size!! But the thought of staying in having to wait tor the spinal to wear off catheter just fills me with dread😵

When I bled it was like turning on a tap. Totally painless and could still feel movement.
Our house to the hospital in the dead of night is 9 minutes, we timed it!
Mattress protector would help.

Apsh2020 · 11/07/2020 12:46

Need to get the mattress protector on the bed and Yeh knickers at the very least 😂

Avearage · 11/07/2020 22:58

Orded my mattress protector 😂 do you ladies wear a pad as a just incase 🤔

Sorry I didn’t answer earlier. I bled a lot. Every day from 19 weeks and delivered v prematurely (he’s fine now). I was told some placentas bleed and some don’t but as a general rule things that in a ‘normal’ pregnancy might cause a harmless uterine contraction can cause a PP bleed.

Avearage · 13/07/2020 08:54

I've another scan coming up internal I think they said.... I can't help the feeling I'm going to be caught out by a bleed if it does happen 🤔
Glad he's fine now ❤️ xx

Hi I’m going through the same at the moment.
I don’t want to have an internal scan though, ( I’m already having a c section )
I hope they are able to confirm from ultrasound the exact placement x

Report
Avearage · 13/07/2020 16:14

I've wondered about the internal scans if it's a needs must or if they can tell from a normal ultrasound 🤔 as I also would rather not have internal 😒

Just to add , I think then can tell roughly most of the time from a normal ultrasound however for more detail they need to do internal x

I'm due a scan Wednesday next week that's the expected interal scan day unless it's miraculously moved by then 🙏
