Scan+gender of babs!

Hi Girls,

Just wondering if anyone can help me out here. At the last scan I was sneakily(promised hubby we wouldn't find out) looking for signs of girl/boy when the sonographer was measuring the femur. Should I have seen boys bits as it was in the 'area'?

could be ... but bear in mind the cord is also in the same area
fwiw, I guessed both of mine wrong ( 1 dd, 1 ds)

you could have seen something, but to be honest we got our first wrong and we'll soon find out if the second is wrong, baby due tomorrow.

We didn't actually see anything at all but I suppose that doesn't necessarily mean it is a girl. I was told that the best position to find out the gender is when the baby is sitting down and getting a view from behind.

even the staff who do thsi daily can get it wrong. its just too difficult for parenst to try and guess. its easy to assuem that if you dont see anything, its a girl but you can miss boy bits unless teh angle is right

sorry is it really important to you or are you just curious? Why dont you just tell Dh that you want to knwo but wont tell him if he wanst a surprise?

I prefer not to know but I just really didn't think the sonographer would show us the'area' in which the genitals are. It's like the surprise was ruined if I thought I knew the gender. I know I probally sound really silly but your answers have relaxed me again

forgot to say, you dont sound silly AT ALL. totally normal to obsess and worry about everything. you are pregnant - its your right to do so . there are very few perks to being pg ( apaart from the baby of course) and getting to be totally neurotic without anyone telling you off is one of them
