Hi all I am pregnant with #2 and found out 1 day before my missed period that I was pregnant albeit faint. I have short cycles 26 days and my LP is 9 days. Yesterday meant I was now 1 week late for my period with lots of positive pregnancy tests using 3 different brands but I still feel the twats are too faint to be one week late. This was my tests yesterday at 16dpo, I went to the doctors who done a strip test and she read the result within 20 seconds and could barely see a line although it was there. She said I will most likely have a heavy bleed within 2 weeks 😔 she refused to do blood tests. Is there any positives I can take from this at all?

That is such an insensitive response from the doctor - It could just be that you ovulated slightly later this month!
Unfortunately there is not much you can do but wait but I don't think all hope is lost when you keep getting positive tests and you are still very early.

Thank you @sel2223 yes I was under the impression all tests whether professional or hpt took at least 3 minutes to get a result but she read it within 20 seconds and now I don't know why I didn't question it at the time. I just feel at my stage everyone else has super dark test lines.

Your first responses are darker or just about as dark as I got with any of my pregnancies. I only tested once however apart from with DD because it was very early and I started bleeding after but even a week later my test wasn’t much darker than your and she’s currently crawling around on the floor.

@HeeeeyDuggee sorry to hear that. I keep going to the toilet to check for blood but I've no cramps or anything but because the doctor said yesterday I'm now paranoid and just waiting to start bleeding! Wuth my DS my lines got dark but I'm not 100% at what stage. It's just this waiting game is driving me a bit insane Confused

Just wondering if anyone else is going through the same thing, I'm 5 weeks today and have had some very light spotting and sharp pains down below that just lasted a few seconds! Now obviously thinking the worst :-(

Have you done any more tests? May be nothing, some people do experience light spotting. I am 4+5 and have had lower cramps today, think at this stage they are considered normal. Unless your spotting results in a heavy bleed, then I wouldn't worry x

@bubblybon20 no I haven't done any more since Wednesday as it was just making me feel worse! You would think I would know considering it's my second but I think it's easy to forget the early stages of pregnancy, it's definitely not heavy at all it's just stained mixed in amongst my cm if that makes sense. I hope your cramping eases off! Just hard not to worry isn't it Blush

Yes I agree, this is my 3rd and I feel completely new to the whole thing' every little thing happening freaks me out. Think it's only normal, try to get an appointment for the doctor to take bloods? Surely if it's a chemical you would have experience something now?

@bubblybon20 every pregnancy I imagine is totally different too! When I went to the doctors on Tuesday she refused to do anything at all. I'm actually in the process of changing doctors since then as I feel she was totally insensitive in what she said! Yea I don't think it's a chemical as my tests did get slightly darker and I first tested from 8dpo and last one was 17dpo. I know time will tell but I think it's the not knowing!

Hey, I didn't have the issue with the tests not getting darker. But spotting as you mention at 5 weeks can be totally normal. Maybe as it's been a few days do another test and see how it is?

Christie08 · 04/07/2020 19:36

@milney25 OK that's good to know thank you, I know I had spotting with my 1st but I can't remember when it was in my pregnancy. Yes I'm going to test tomorrow morning and see from there!

My tests didn’t get dark until 6 weeks- they looked like yours for ages. I also have had spotting since I found out, often bright red blood. Two doctors told me I’d miscarried and wouldn’t refer me to the EPU.

But I had a scan at 6 weeks and saw a fetal pole and everything looking good. So try not to worry!

My consultant gave me progesterone to stop the bleeding which has worked, could you ask for that?

Christie08 · 04/07/2020 19:50

@recreationalcalpol that's reassuring thank you! Hopefully tomorrow's test is slightly darker or else much the same and not fainter an then I'm going to stop until I see my new doctor. The spotting has only happened twice today and literally just tiny streaks, yes I think I will mention the progesterone also. Thanks so much for your advice x

Everything could have been a slightly bit later, your test is very clearly obvious. And as said above, some people's don't get darker until later. Until you have a big bleed or normal AF, I would defo say you're pregnancy. And the spotting could just be a late implantation? 🤷🏻‍♀️

These are my tests from this morning! Though took a clear blue also and it's still showing 1-2 weeks. Lines have all definitely got darker but I will still speak to my gp this week.

Only just come across this threat but that's great @Christie08 that the tests this morning are showing darker! I would be inclined to say the spotting is just that and nothing to worry about! Congratulations lovely x

Thanks @bubblybon20 here's hoping! I've been looking all day but I can't seem to find others who are 5+1 now and the clearblue is still showing 1-2 weeks!

Just an update as I hated researching and then now seeing an update. I started bleeding which got heavier at 5+4 weeks with some cramps. So in my case I knew from the start wuth the line progression that things weren't going right. Good luck to everyone else Flowers
