Hi does anyone know if you need to take Vit d drops with you to the hospital if you plan to breastfeed?

I can't find any that say suitable from birth they said from 3/4 months.

I'm worried as my eldest was Jaundice under the UV light.

Has anyone started a new thread I just don't no why I lose this one all the time 😞 is anyone suffering with spd?

WhoUsedMyName Thu 19-Nov-20 09:37:41

Morning ladies just flicking through the thread I'm 32+4 now I've packed my back other than snacks! But now I want a full bag just for snacks 😂

wigglerose Wed 18-Nov-20 20:57:59

@footprintsintheslow Thanks!

footprintsintheslow Wed 18-Nov-20 19:04:29

@wigglerose last time I took sweets, crisps, raspberries, cooked sausage rolls, lukozade, plant milk, plant butter, vegan chocolate.

Onekidnoclue Wed 18-Nov-20 11:31:33

I took a load of wonderful, delicious snacks with my first. I can still remember them! Some smoothies, mini double deckers, I made some lovely sarnies. Didn’t eat a bite 😂 DH and the midwives had a picnic while I was in labour. Didn’t care at all at the time but was livid afterwards when I discovered my mini double deckers had gone. TBH I don’t think I’m over it now 😂😂😂
I’d suggest dried fruit is a great snack as you can get horribly constipated and anything “softening” is a blessing.

Has anyone thought more about snacks for the hospital bag? I'm 33+6. I'm a FTM so no idea what is useful/feasible to take. I had been planning to pack a few cereal/protein bars, grapes, dried fruit, sports water bottle, and that was it.

However, we had our first NCT class yesterday and the class leader mentioned that for covid currently my DH won't be allowed out of the room once we're in so can't pop to the hospital shop (Lord knows this could all change...) if we need too to get a sandwich or something like that.

What snacks has everyone else taken in the past?

PollyOaks Tue 17-Nov-20 16:12:03

@onekidnoclue I know I wonder how I will fit it all in I'm gonna take a small case on wheels I can wheel instead of carry as I am expecting to have to do this alone with covid restrictions probably going to be ramped up in January

Onekidnoclue Tue 17-Nov-20 16:05:18

Holy moly. You guys will have suitcases 😂
I’m a bit worried about quantity of ‘stuff’ tbh as doubt DH will be there to help at all and due to the meds I’m on I’ll need to stay after for a couple of days.
Think it may be easier to err on the side of only having the basics/essentials rather than not being able to lift the bag or space by the bed for getting things out a bigger bag.

I read a tip online about seperating the clothes for the baby into sets and putting them in sandwich bags and writing the size on the front (taking a few sizes incase he is bigger than expected) and then if the midwife or hubby needs to get anything out the bag it's all organised! Can also use the sandwich bags then to put any dirty clothes in.

This is my list from a YouTube video I watched of a woman who's had 4 kids lol

1 pack size 1 nappies
Water wipes
Barrier cream sample
6x vests (2 of each size)
6x Sleepsuits
2x hats
1x bobble hat
1x blanket
2x muslins
1x swaddle
1x fleece car seat suit
Baby milk

Birthing nightie
Maternity pj's x2
Socks x2
Nursing bras x2
Lansinoh nipple cream
Going home outfit (lounge wear) loose
Pack of disposible briefs
4x Black soft short knickers
Pack of maternity pads
2x glucose tablets
Wireless headphones
Mitchin unscented deodorant
Bags for dirty/wet clothes

I am planning to breast feed but taking premade milk in just incase I struggle

footprintsintheslow Tue 17-Nov-20 10:54:21

@Onekidnoclue I have no intention of packing a bag until about 36 weeks but the list makes my brain have to work less by juggling all the ideas in my head when I'm too trusted to function.

I will be packing my own bag though as I couldn't trust H to do it to my standards (he'd probably do it better in reality).

Onekidnoclue Tue 17-Nov-20 08:35:46

@footprintsintheslow the tea and toast is the best!!!

Onekidnoclue Tue 17-Nov-20 08:35:10

Oh my god you guys are so organised! I’m about 30 weeks to and had no plans to even think about hospital bags and all the rest until after my next MW appointment next month.
Are you planning to pack your bags soon too or just give DH a list and tell him to sort while you’re in labour?

OP’s posts: |
footprintsintheslow Tue 17-Nov-20 05:28:34

Here's my list from my phone that I add to as and when I think of things.

Hospital bag

Fold up changing mat
Big knickers
Pads x a million
Nightie and pjs
Nipple cream
Baby grows
Flip flops
Lip balm

(Milk and butter is on there as I'm vegan but I don't want to miss out on the yummy tea and toast post birth).

I've never met with the same consultant twice yet. I might start asking for the same but don't want that to delay any appointments by doing that. I do feel fine with the consultants I've seen though.

@Onekidnoclue I'm sure on dates but they moved me forward a week at my dating scan. So I think it's always been big since before then.
Next scan is Tuesday so hopefully things have levelled out a bit.
