6th week/constant pain left side

Hello all I'm worried about a pain I've been experiencing since yesterday. It comes and goes and is always in the same place on the centre left approx where I would estimate my left ovary is. Super bloasted, I look 5 months pregnant!

I had a MMC in Nov last year at 10 weeks but this pregnancy feels completely different and thats why I'm even more concerned.

My GP has referred me to EPU but I don't know when i'll be seen. I'm really am not looking forward to going there for obvious reasons.

Is this normal?

Hi, congratulations on your pregnancy! Obviously I don't have a clue what your pain is, and it seems to me that you've done all the right things. I do remember having a sharp stitch-like pain in my pregnancies when it was early days, and apparently it was implantation pain, so maybe that's what you have?
Best wishes.

Hello @megrichardson thank you for responding as I'm completely on my own.

Am I not way past implantation pain by now as I'm in my 6th week?

My pain isnt sharp, its quite strong prodding constantly.

I don't know much about it, OP, but when you say central, where exactly do you mean? Your ovaries would be classed as the lower abdomen.

@Somethingsnappy in that lower left location.

Hi OP, It could well just be normal pains but I would think the concern would be that it could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. Hopefully the EPU will scan you to check everything is ok.

I must add, when I was about 6 weeks I suddenly had intense pain in my side and was convinced I either had an ectopic pregnancy or was miscarrying. Turns out I just had trapped wind : )

@Teakind this is what I think as I am super bloated. I have been referred to EPU tomorrow which I am dreading.

I am 6+6 myself and I keep having pains like twinges on and off mostly on my right side somtimes feels sharp but isn't that painful and doesn't last long at all I have been assuming it's just the norm. Please keep us updated how you get on at the epu xxx

I had a niggly pain where my right ovary was when I was around 6-8 weeks. I was terrified it was ectopic but it wasn't horrendous pain and not constant, I was just aware of it sometimes if that makes sense. I had a private scan at 6+6 and was shown I had a right corpus luteum cyst which was likely the cause and they are very common and harmless. Great that you're being seen in EPU and they can hopefully provide reassurance and it's not ectopic x

Ok so just got back from EPU. Pregnancy is in the RIGHT place!! @Jadeypie get your GP to refer you. Its the only way to feel safe and put your mind at rest!

I'm 5+6 today. Gestational sac and yolk sac visible but no fetal pole. She had a good poke around. She said I might have implanted late but she didnt reassure me and just told me to come back in 2 weeks.

@bluebell94 I also have corpus luteum on my left ovary and said this was actually a good thing and could explain the pain.

Anyone heard of no petal pole?

@lucindaa great news that everything is where its supposed to be! I actually don't feel worried I have a ap the 13th so just waiting for that. The fetal pole can take up to nine weeks to be seen according to Google plus its still so early I wouldn't let it worry you. Easier said than done I know 😂 all sounds promising for you girly xx

I just wanted to update this thread if anyone were to see this in years to come not knowing what the outcome was and going through something similar.

Nausea kicked in bang on 7 weeks and hasn't stopped since. Went for private scan yesterday as I wanted DH to be with me. Baby measuring at 7+4 with a strong heartbeat and right of schedule!

Past 2 weeks have been agony not knowing if they would see the fetal pole and it's there Grin

9+ years of unexplained infertility, IVF'er, IUI'er so just need to carry on and just look after this bean!

Love you all x
