I just wanted to see if anyone else was left with a rectocele prolapse after the birth of their baby? I had a forceps delivery with episiotomy. First baby and was left with a grade 2 rectocele. I'm thinking of trying for another baby and want to know others experiences of having this while pregnant again and how it affected their birth plan? C section, natural etc? First post thanks smile

I have this! Ask your go to be referred to urology (if you aren't under them already) as they will want to keep an eye on you. Tell
Your midwife too.

I had a rectocele following the birth of my first baby. I don't think it got particularly worse with my second pregnancy, I found the key thing was avoiding constipation so I took a regular laxative throughout. I had a much easier birth with my second with a much shorter second stage of Labour although still a second degree tear. My pelvic floor recovered much more quickly and I don't feel my rectocele was any worse.
Now pregnant with number 3 so hopefully it will be the same!

With my second labour I specifically put in my birth plan I wanted a controlled delivery to minimise risk of tearing. I feel a lot of my issues were due to an inadequate repair of my tear first time around.
