Leg Cramps at night

Woke up last night with the worst leg cramp in the back of my right calf muscle, I remember I had it once with DS. The muscle has felt tight and dire all day since and feels like it could go again at any moment now I'm in bed. Any tips for helping? I've tried stretching it out and massaging a bit

I suffered with this a lot when I was pregnant with my son. It's called a Charlie horse 🙈 it's so painful isn't it? Apparently magnesium deficiency can bring it on, but I'm not sure if you can take magnesium when pg? Just wanted to say - you are not alone!

I have this at least twice every night - not fun! I have found the only thing that gets rid of it is getting out of bed and doing a little hop around the room, the movement helps. It’s crap but You’re not alone!

Had this slightly with DS2 and horrendously with DS3. The only thing that helped was getting up and walking round the house several times.
It's a total pain especially when you're knackered.

This happens to me too! I've found if I'm in bed and point my toes it seems to be one of the things that bring it on. So I avoid stretching like that at all costs!! If it does happen I have to frantically rub my calf and the pain stops, but the calf is sore for a few days normally.

I had this and RLS I got the magnesium spray off Amazon as many people recommended and it was a miracle in a bottle, several people have used it on my recommendation and loved it too x

I drank tonic water for the quinine to ease mine, but this was 20 years ago.

I have been drinking a bit of tonic water but now got gestational diabetes so can't have it due to the sugar and hate the sugar free taste, maybe that's why it's started now too! Thanks @BabyB19 I'll def get some of that then!

The only thing that’s helped with the horrendous leg cramps I’ve experience in this pregnancy is walking and stretching everyday
