7weeks+3 pregnant fetal pole but no heart beat

I’ve had two other miscarriages before. I’m on the heavier side of 5’3 and 190 pounds.
I had my first OB appointment Monday, but it resulted in she couldn’t find a heart beat and I was most likely going to lose the baby again.

I’m going in next Monday to have my HCG tested again to see if it’s going up or not. I’m hoping it is. My HCG Monday was 111k.

Is anyone in the same boat as me?
Does anyone have success stories?

Ah OP, i so hope its a positive outcome for you.

Not exactly the same, but I had my first scan when I should have been 7+5 but baby only measured 6+1. Granted, there was a heartbeat but I was told that I was lucky and that, had I gone just a couple of days earlier, there may not have been anything to see yet.

Baby then caught up a week by her dsting scan and I'm now 33 weeks.

Good luck OP x

I'm sorry, this might not be very helpful, but isn't 7 weeks too considerably too early to detect heartbeat anyway?

Fingers and toes crossed for you

That’s what I feel like it’s too early! But I’m on my way to my hcg drawn so I’ll let you know what happens after

My nurse who did the ultrasound called and said she was surprised my HCG was rising and said they must have made a MISTAKE! My doctor gave me so little hope and was CERTAIN I was going to lose my baby. I’m very happy but also upset. I’m going to be scheduled with a new OB with an ultrasound and follow up HCG draw the same day

update.
A new ob from the same clinic called just now and told me that it doesn’t matter if my hcg increases, if there’s a placenta it’ll increase no matter what and that I’m 100% going to lose the baby, she said they will not be doing any further ultrasounds on me.

I had this on my preganacy after a mmc and was told it could go either way but it was quite late to not see a heartbeat. I had 2 long weeks to wait before a rescan and there was a heart beat who is now a beautiful 2 year old. It is such a stressful time but be kind to yourself. I hope you get a positive outcome Flowers

She said I would have started seeing the signs of a miscarriage this week and it would take up to three weeks to miscarry. So I’m going to wait it out and if I still don’t see signs of it, get the opinion of a different doctor, by that time I know I’ll supposed to be farther along and if they don’t see one at that age then I’ll accept it

OP this is super confusing - and your OBs sound strange, point blank refusing to do any more scans is just odd. Did you have a transvaginal scan with the first appointment? And what are your dates based on? If truly 7w3 days then there should be a heart beat usually, but often dates can be out by quite a bit and things turn out to be fine. If you let us know what the crown-rump length was and whether the scan was transvaginal then we’ll be able to help a little more perhaps.
The whole story is just a bit strange. The only way I can figure they’re refusing to do a rescan is if you already had a TV USS with fetal pole measuring more than 7mm and no heartbeat. But in that case the hcg level would have served no purpose so I’m confused!! Very happy to try help more with some more info, sorry you’re going through this.

My last period was may 1st, they did a TV, they did not give measurements of the fetal pole or crown rump, at the time she said the baby was only 6 weeks and 1 day then they changed their mind with second phone call saying the baby was 7 weeks and 3 days, and the last phone call they now said the baby would be 8 weeks, I’ll attach my ultrasound report. The new OB said there was a fetus but said nothing else about it,

Ah I see so you’ve had two TV scans 3 weeks apart without growth and with no FH seen - that makes more sense and I’m sorry does confirm a miscarriage I think, you wouldn’t need another scan. You could still ask for another for peace of mind but it makes more sense to me now. It may still take a while for the process to start - have they offered other treatment options? (D&C or medical management). Again sorry you’re going through this.
