Pregnant on the mini pill..

Hi just hoping someone can advise me really!
I've been on the mini pill since my son was 6 weeks old, although evidently wasn't very good at taking it regularly Blush
Discovered yesterday that I'm pregnant, after two very quick and very strong BFPs.
Since being on the mini pill I've had a couple of bleeds but don't know if these count as "periods" as in I don't know whether I would date my pregnancy from these bleeds or not? Don't really want to pay for a private dating scan.
If anyone has been in a similar situation I'd be really interested in hearing about it, thanks!

I haven’t been in a similar situation but didn’t want to read and run! Currently on the mini, I have a 5 month old and have constant paranoia that I’ve missed one😂

How old is your other baby? Did you miss many pills? Congratulations😌

I feel pregnant on the mini pill too! I had an alarm to take them everyday at the same time and didn’t miss any to my knowledge, but still ended up with a positive test!

I had some light bleeding up until I was 10 weeks. I did end up booking a private scan as it was coming up to Christmas and I wanted to know what was happening before then. Thankfully baby was fine and the sonographer couldn’t see the source of the bleeding. Not sure it was linked to the hormones left in my system from the mini pill?

I’m sure if you’re concerned about the bleeding then the EPU should be able to help. I phoned them before I booked my private scan but they wanted me to wait and I was too impatient!

Hi - how old is your son? Assume 4-5 months at least? you can’t date your pregnancy from those bleeds I don’t think - you may be able to figure it out if you can recall when you’ve had sex? Esp if you haven’t recently. You should be able to get an NHS scan fairly urgently rather than having to pay for a private one. Would suggest phoning your GP to arrange, or book with midwives but be very very clear that you have no idea about dates and that you need a scan organised as soon as possible (ie 1-2 weeks). Your EPU may also be able to help you as PP have said.

Sorry, I'm not sure how I didn't see these replies, I thought no one had answered me Grin
My son is only 9 months old, yikes! I've got a booking appointment next week so will definitely be asking for a scan. Hoping they just agree!

I have got pregnant twice on the mini pill, I really don’t think it’s reliable. I’m normal weight, with no identifiable reasons why it failed. The first time, I took it at 10pm or around then, keeping within the 3 hour window. I thought I must have then got PG by DTD maybe 25 or 26 hours after the last pill, hence the lack of protection. Second time, I took it without fail, at bang on 4pm every day (long gone are my days of afternoon love making!) and I was BF an 18 month old. It’s not very reliable in my experience!
