Feeling a bit sorry for myself!

I'm 35+5 and would have been going on Maternity leave on a week today. I'm currently working from home & that has been really manageable, my DD and DH are both home too. DD has lost all interest in homeschool, partly down to me being knackered and DH has set on an office in our bedroom so I can't even retreat to there if I leave DD watching a film for an hour or 2 (she's 6)! God knows how the bedroom/office will work when the baby arrives?!

I'm a bit gutted that I won't get the 2-3 weeks on my own before baby arrives that I would have done.

I'm glad I'm able to work from home as I would normally be on my feet all day so that's been a good things but I'm desperate for a bit of time to myself.

Bit of a first world problem I suppose but does anyone else feel the same?

My situation isn't the same as yours but I just wanted to give some sympathy and join in on the moan! I've been suffering from dizziness (low iron, I'm on supplements) and mild pgp so I've just got low level chronic pain all the time, which makes me just not care about work any more. I'm a teacher wfh and I've only got a couple of weeks of term left (so like you, effectively going on mat leave pretty soon), and like you so incredibly thankful that I don't have to commute everyday, but I'm so done with schoolwork! Can't muster the energy to do the washing up, the laundry, anything. My DH is doing probs 75% or more of the housework as it is, and I feel guilty, but I just want to lie here and scroll through my fb feed or read some silly mumsnet aibu threads. My marking and report writing are piling up. Poor meeeeee haha thank you for the moan
Ps as a teacher I just want to say, don't worry too much about home schooling. You're doing great and your dd is learning in so many other ways, even watching a film sometimes.

I hear you, OP. DS is a newborn and I really missed not having any time to myself. DH has been working from home since lockdown began, and I was until my maternity leave started. In my head, I had a lovely, relaxing couple of weeks planned - reading books, watching whatever I wanted and basically just chilling out. I didn’t even have any other children to look after, so you have my full sympathy.
