I assume my DH still can't go to any scans (I've got one next week) but how do I check?

For me they had information on my hospitals website and I got a call the day before the scan from a midwife to confirm.

Either give them a ring, their website or your hospital may have a maternity Facebook page with the latest updates. My hospital has just started allowing Dads in for the 12 and 20 week scans only. I got a text from my midwife last week to explain the change.

@burdog I went for my 20 week scan yesterday and still no husbands/partners allowed :( poor thing has missed out on both scans now and it's our first baby.

Ring the hospital. A couple of trusts have started allowing partners but it seems the majority still aren't.

I called my antenatal unit yesterday to move a scan date and they mentioned they now allow one parter to come with you. So definitely worth calling and asking.

One parter 🤦‍♀️
One person!

My trust is allowing partners to the 12 week scan but not the 20 (which seems a bit unfair to me)

Does your maternity unit have a Facebook page? Check there also if they do. When I had my 20 week (at the end of April) scan there was a security guard on the door questioning everyone before they were allowed into the maternity unit and I saw a partner turned away.

My Trust has just changed to allow one partner...except no one told me! A friend discovered and let me know, but it was the day before my scan and not enough time to find someone to watch our toddler so I still had to go alone.

@burdog Had my 20 week this week. They phoned me the day before to check that me or nobody in my household had symptoms of Covid but still no partners allowed in. Lady on the phone said they were expecting it to be at least another few weeks at the earliest before there was any updates. Think it’s all very different depending on area though!

I'd say definitely give them a ring to double check.

Late last week when I checked my hospital's website website - no partner allowed.
After reading this thread, I gave them a ring to double check - partners are allowed!

I think a lot of rules changed on June 15th, so definitely worth checking.

Ps - thanks everyone!

@Melbs6 that will be due to the 12 week scan being a higher risk for getting bad news at.

They still aren't allowed in our area, there is information on the hospital website. Private scans are allowing partners in our area though so I booked one as a surprise at 27 weeks so that my husband and our children could come along too.
