Hi everyone! Hope it's ok if I jump on this thread :) I'm due on 2nd October! Hows everyone doing?

Thanks @Treaclepie19 for starting a new thread.

I ache...my husband didn’t put the cat downstairs last night before he came to bed (we started doing that in preparation for the baby and because he’s annoying in the night) and the cat thought my side was a good platform to sleep on! 💤💤 I did push him off but then I would wake up and he was there again, happily purring away 😂

Welcome @Red3232 xx

I slept ok but fell asleep late and was trying to feel movement

Dp set up the changing table/chest of drawers last night he was on form

Might spend the day pottering and pretending to put baby things in said chest of dawers 😂

On the ball again @Treaclepie19 thank you xx Woken up with a sore ear again, had one last wk was sore enough to require paracetamol- tried hardest not to take but it eased within the hour so well worth it. Strange as don’t tend to suffer with ears, had bloody nose yesterday though so maybe just sinus issues.Another beautiful pram @AutumnBabyWinterMummy ( think it was you who posted the pic yest, old thread) xx

@Treaclepie19 thanks for the new thread.

@Red3232 welcome on board

I've stayed in bed for ages this morning feeling lots of little kicks, don't really want to move but hunger may get the better of me soon. Still aching from yesterday so I think I'll mainly supervise the furniture building today.

Thanks you @Treaclepie19 for the new thread 😊

And the pram pictures are beautiful! So excited to be browsing with DH - we’ve had Maxi Cosi recommended a few times from family and would be interested if anyone had feedback on their prams?

Happy Sunday all x

Welcome on board @Red3232!! First baby? ( it’s my first )

@LostinAusten2 I’m thinking of getting the maxi cosi adorra my friend has it and says it’s great esp since baby will
Be born in October no need for sleep cot as you won’t be going out that much with baby as the weather will be cool. It’s on sale at John Lewis for the moment I’m so tempted but just waiting for the shops so I can have a look at few other prams before going for it - on the website which it rates quite good .

@BntTowers I was feeling baby kicks this morning in bed but dh wanted to dtd it’s been forever he kept saying I said feel my belly total mood block 😂

Zaalfruit · 14/06/2020 10:01

@LostinAusten2 meant carry cot not sleep cot !

BntTowers · 14/06/2020 10:12

@Zaalfruit @LostinAusten2 we are thinking maxi Cosi too. We've got an appointment at a local showroom next week to test it out. I don't think they have the model we are thinking though, but will be good to see how it handles (not that I know what I'm looking for!)

Thanks for the new thread @Treaclepie19! 🤗. Well done on the baby prep, I'm slowly working my way through things. Will get the clothes last but I'm still not sure how much of each little item I will need.
I've got my pram, prep machine, sterilizer, ordered breast pump & nappy ruck sack. Still a long way to go but I'm getting there slowly.

@Red3232 welcome to the group, I find it so useful 🤗.

I have the dreaded GD test tomorrow at 9am so will have to stay up 'late' tonight to eat haha. I really hope I don't have it but they said it's highly likely with the insulin resistance and the excess fluid around him. Let's see, I will deal with it when I get the results.

Xxx

Yay on new thread! Gorgeous pram photos on the last 😻

I bought the wallpaper for the nursery over the weekend. It was soooo expensive. I was horrified but dh says anything for his boy 😹

Going to try and do drawer organising today. My dividers came yesterday, feels a bit daunting though 😅

@Zaalfruit yeah it's my first baby so I'm both excited and terrified! I'm guessing I've missed most people's 20 week scans - does anyone know what they're having? We're keeping it a surprise but I'm dying to find out - I'm too impatient haha

I've bought the ickle bubba stomp v4 - the name makes me cringe but it had good reviews! I really wanted to wait until I could get to the shops and try it but had a panic that it wouldnt arrive in time if I waited!

Report
Quiffy · 14/06/2020 11:27

@red3232 that's what we're going for! I just call it the Stomp 😹 boy here! I could hardly wait until the 20week scan, nevermind birth. Team yellow have so much patience!

Welcome @Red3232 - boy for us too. I was in two minds about finding out but so glad I did, makes me feel more of a bond with him and excited. Although I have noticed now that I’m impatient for him to be here which I wasn’t before!

We got our pram because we were also going to wait and go and try more but I was 95% sure it was the one and it was a good deal online. As we were likely to go for that one I was worried we would wait, still want it but miss out on the savings! Feels good to get it all ticked off the list but equally I feel like it’s just sat there now waiting 😂😂

What do people use to cover the mattress in a pram? Do you get a Moses type sheet or a Muslin? I have no clue!!

@quiffy I love the nursery wallpapers! I wish I had the talent to do wallpapering but it would be awful so we stuck to paint 😄

@LexiM I used a moses basket sheet. Then put a muslin on top 🙈 Had a very sticky baby.

We've got a mamas and papas occaro. Couldn't resist the bundle on very and with 20% off on top it ended up as £640 for the 8 piece travel system.
We've got our next2me ordered, cot bed and change table ordered. Loads of stuff arriving this week 😁

Welcome @Red3232. I've got another little girl coming. She is due 2 days before DDs 3rd birthday.

@LexiM you can use either a moses sheet or a muslin. Depends if the moses sheets are the right size, or what you have to hand really.

25 weeks today. Sometimes it feels like its racing by and then other times like its dragging

Ooh thanks @BntTowers and @Zaalfruit - reassuring we’re not the only maxi cosi ones out there 😄
And excellent shout on JL sale; I think we’ll wait til I pass 24 weeks (a week on Tuesday) then go shopping-mad 🥳 I reckon it’ll be things like the pram and cot that make this feel real all of a sudden!
