Anyone else suffered with ante natal depression? Would love to hear stories of you coming out the other side because I feel so down :(

I had very bad depression the last month of my pregnancy because I felt like a whale, was uncomfortable day and night, my legs had been swollen for months and my hormones were all over the place. I gave birth and instantly felt happy again (although I was in a lot of pain) .

I think pregnancy hormones and feeling uncomfortable had everything to do with it in my case. I was extremely emotional whilst pregnant and felt great once my hormones had gone back to normal.

If you think your depression is more related to the physical aspects of pregnancy than you will most likely be fine after birth but if you're worrying about being able to cope after birth it may be worth seeing a counsellor or sharing your concerns with the people you are closest to.

Hope you feel better soon Flowers
