Pregnancy and birth after discectomy spinal surgery

Hi all so I'm 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant and I'm getting more anxious as the days go on, I had spinal surgery 5 years ago, I still get lots of pain and they say this is due to scar tissue from the surgery irritating a nerve but the pain is awful and it's most days but I've just gotten on with it. I'm now extremely worried about pregnancy and the birth etc. It's really getting me down, I'm 40 as well which means age isn't on my side ...😔
Has anyone had a bad back and been ok?

Hi OP, not the same as yours but I have a prolapsed disc at L4-5 & was in a lot of pain during my last pregnancy. I had an epidural (under pain management team) at 32 weeks to try & manage the pain.
I was given an elective Caesarian for medical reasons as it was felt that a prolonged pushing stage may damage my back further. Worked really well for me

Ah thank you yeah I had that until the disc herniated and they gave me discectomy, how are you now? Did they operate on it? X
