I have really suffered today. I have a tiny garden so there's no escape if I'm out there, it is a pollen trap! Today was such a lovely day too, I don't want to stay inside if I can avoid it!

I intend to call the pharmacy and ask if there is anything I can take safely while pregnant.

Are there any other pregnant ladies suffering?! What else helps?!

I suffer really badly with hayfever. The pharmacy wouldn't give me anything without a prescription unfortunately even though I know that some medications are ok. I managed to get a prescription from my GP over the phone in the end for nasal spray and it has been working well. You could choose to just buy some nasal spray but I would suggest it's best to call your GP and get them to prescribe over the phone if possible.

I am suffering too! Sterimar nasal spray helps me - and is just saline - plus wearing a cap and sunglasses (even inside!).

However I saw my consultant today for a check-up, and she said Piriton was licensed to take in Pregnancy (but you have to take it four times a day and it causes drowsiness). She also said Beconase nasal spray is acceptable. She seemed very relaxed about taking either, whereas the pharmacist I spoke to last week said there was nothing I could take...

Now weighing up my options!

Thanks, glad to know I'm not alone. My eyes are stinging from practically crying all day and my nose...well we've completely run out of tissues now, my head is also pounding! 🥺

I'll bypass the pharmacy and give the GP a bell in the morning.

Yes give your GP a ring..mine seem to be quite relaxed about taking hayfever medication and said I could continue taking the beconase nasal spray.

I have just been googling the same thing after noticing that I shouldn't be taking the hay fever tablets that I have been for the last week!!

Loratidine is ok to take along with nasal sprays

I have a nasal spray prescribed by gp, only meant to use it once a day so i save it for bedtime as mine seems so much worse when i wake up at 2am ish. On the really bad days i take a loratidine tablet. I work in a supermarket and everyone stares like i have the plague every time i sneeze 😣
