Hi, has anyone used Royal Berkshire and if so what was your experience.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I had a baby there but it was 2016. I know plenty that have and no one had any complaints, including me.

There are a couple of good Facebook groups you could ask this on. One is called Expecting and isolating in reading, and the other is something like West Berkshire 2020 babies.

Lots of new mums on there who can tell you how they have found it.

I'm local but I had mine years ago and at home, though under RBH care.

I'm a few days overdue and will be going to Royal Berks when it eventually happens. They were excellent when I went in for reduced movements last week. I've also been admitted in the past for miscarriages and found everyone very kind.
Look up the Royal Berkshire RBFH maternity Facebook page. They're excellent at keeping mums up to date on this page and have been holding a Q&A weekly during the pandemic.

I've had two babies there and found the care excellent but have nothing to compare it to!

I had one there, one at Frimley and one at
Wexham. Good care at all but slight preference at Frimley in the birth centre. I had an emergency at Frimley after delivery and they were excellent. However, was very happy with the care I had at both Royal Berks and Wexham too!

I had my baby there in 2018. They are truly epic. I honestly ended up on nearly every ward with every midwife (loooooong induction) and they were all wonderful.

Given a choice between Royal Berks and any other hospital I would take any other hospital. They may have got better in the last decade though. The treatment I received was appalling.

I couldn't fault the care I had there. But I haven't given birth since 2006.

Following. Due to deliver there January 2021.

Still overdue (Now 40+10!). Due to be induced on Friday (40+12) if things don't start naturally. I'll try to remember to post afterwards!

Another good page to follow is Reading Maternity Voices which is an NHS kind of watchdog which works with the hospital to improve maternity services. They fought for people to be able to have their partners in the phone during scans which is now happening.
They were asking for new volunteers the other week.
