I didn’t feel great the next day, I remember the aching arm for a good couple of days 😬

I had mine yesterday and feel fine aside from it hurting a bit where it was injected. The nurse said to me you should have no side effects from it. I'd give 111 a call, just to be on the safe side.

Hope you feel better soon.

I agree with @London91

My midwife said you shouldn't have any symptoms other than an aching arm for a few hours. I'd call 111 to be on the safe side.

I felt horrible the next day. Threw up my breakfast and then spent the rest of the day in bed achey all over and with a banging headache. Was fine the following day though.

In think that I was fine last time.
Can I just ask how many weeks everyone has had there's at this time?

I had a very achy arm for about a day and a half and felt a bit rough, not exactly terrible but not at my best either, tired and miserable. But that wore off after 1 day.
I had it at 28 weeks.

Ghabj you @rhia22 and @London91.
I just realised when reading this that if not talked to my midwife about it as my 16 week appointment was changed to a phone consultation. I think I had it at about 18 weeks last time but don't have another appointment until 28 weeks now.
Will ring and check.

I had mine just after 30 weeks and had a sore spot from the jab but nothing else, I agree with the others, speak to the midwife, could of course just be some unrelated pregnancy stuff 🤦🏻‍♀️

I just had an achey arm, but you can get fever and fluey symptoms afterwards if you had the jab that has the tetanus booster included.

Take some paracetamol, keep up your fluids and rest. It should be easing by tomorrow. Obviously if you get a new cough or lose your sense of smell then that’s a different matter!

My arm was throbbing for about a week after!

I had none, I didn't even have the arm pain!

Report
MaisieMolly · 19/05/2020 21:17

I had nothing either not even a sore arm

The whooping cough vaccine does have the tetanus booster, also diphtheria and polio (it's the one they give pre-schoolers) as there isn't a whooping cough vaccine alone.

I got mine last week at exactly 28 weeks. My arm started getting sore a couple hours later and was up through the next day but that was it.

Had mine at 28 weeks last Oct, had not. Side affects not even a sore arm, dito for the flu jab.

I also didn't get a single cold last year or so far this year.

I’m not having mine this time after issues with my last one in pregnancy- when I had it done as soon as the nurse put the needle in I had what felt like an electric shock plus sharp pain all down my arm into my finger which did go for days it was agony - she must have hit a nerve ??i couldnt then use my crutches (pregnancy related mobility issues) and then also felt very unwell
I’ve discussed with my doctor and as it was within the last 5 years and it’s me at to last 5-10 years they said it’s up to me that it’s better to have it with each pregnancy but they understand why I don’t want to
