Spotting after positive test this morning

Hi all,

So I took a pregnancy test this morning as my period I did any day now (I think, I'm rubbish at date tracking), and it was positive.

I have just wiped after peeing and there was some brown discharge.

I don't think it could be implantation bleeding because I already have Hcg in my system if I got a positive test...

Should I be worried?

Thank you so much in advance...

Hi. I had brown stringy discharge / spotting with my first baby from 4-8 weeks, the dr (in portugal at the time) said it was a miscarriage and she's go but she's now 3 and fine!

Currently just had a faint positive again this morning after been 3 days late but now having light bleeding (dark red and not filling a pad daily)
Fingers crossed for you!

@duvethogger implantation bleeding can occur even a few weeks after so it could be it. Keep an eye, if it gets worse or you have accompanying cramping then ring your gp for an EPU referral. Fingers crossed for you!

I have a referral to the EPU next week. I had a very faint line this morning so not so sure it will continue!

Hello, I had brown spotting for the first few weeks as well (between about 5/6 weeks - 8/9 weeks). I was worried like you then the GP referred me to my local EPU for a scan. They told me that it's not normal but it's very common. As long as it's not bright red or you are in pain then everything should be fine.

Try not to worry too much. If you are really worried, I would ring up your GP and see if they can refer you for an early scan.

I am experiencing this too, with slight/mild cramping sometimes. Tested bfp on Friday and started spotting straight afterwards... just waiting now ...

Hello @duvethogger. Thank you for asking ! I had a bleed for 2 days, used 2 pads for both days. Still feel nauseus and back ache but V. sore nipples have gone, so just taking it that I'm not pregnant :) It's okay though !

I'm now tracking LH levels through Ovulation tests to see what my cycle is like out of interest

You might be okay @oliveroses. With my first unplanned pregnancy, I had a positive on the 4th day of a missed period, no other symptoms and then started spotting/brown discharge and cramps for 4-8 week, cervix was open a bit but baby was fine and she is now 3

Thank you @Alrowley - fingers crossed! Sorry to hear about your bleed x

Oh don't be sorry! I'm very much a go with the flow type human, I don't worry about much! I had only posted on here to reply to @duvethogger for some reassurance :)

If your test was very definitive +, spotting is totally okay, but you can ring your Dr's who will put you through the early pregnancy unit EPU when you are about 6 weeks for a scan x

@duvethogger how are you? x

@Alrowley I'm sorry to hear about your bleeding..but your attitude to everything is amazing! I would love to be a bit more like you I think...

My spotting has stopped which is such a relief and I will book an appointment with the Gyno ASAP. By my calculations (vague), I am now 5 weeks...where I live they give you a scan at 7/8 weeks so it won't be long until I see the start of this little bump.

I don't have any crazy symptoms though, just a little hungrier and more tired (which could just be lock down munchies), and my boobs feel a little fuller.

But thank you again for responding to me when you did originally...helped so much!! ❤️

Morning @Alrowley, thanks for asking. I am still spotting pale brown every day but I am still pregnant so trying not to worry! I am not doing any more tests and just trying to trust my body. I have breast tenderness that is sometimes very bad and sometimes barely noticeable and again, trying not to stress when it eases off.
Just taking it one day at a time with fingers crossed! I think I'm 4 weeks and 4 and plan to call the dr next week. Any news @duvethogger?
How are you @Alrowley?x
