How are you feeling if so? How far along are you?

I’m due 12th August, 21 weeks 1 day today, first baby and I’m having a boy!

I’ve felt a bit overwhelmed with this whole pandemic and the unknown of whether it’s going to be better by then! Fingers crossed for the best.

I also really want to start buying things but feel bad for shopping online given the current scenario, I just don’t want to leave it all til last minute and be really unprepared.

Would love to hear from you all Flowers

Hey, I’m due August 21st and also having a boy 💙

I’ve been quite chilled about the whole pandemic but it’s recently really starting to hit me that our pregnancy / birth care might be affected. I’ve heard face-to-face midwife appointments are being changed to telephone appointments which worries me because how are they meant to listen to the baby’s heartbeat and measure our bumps etc?

I also want to start buying things, especially after my 20 week scan which is on Monday. I’d like to order a pram soon but it’s difficult without being able to trial one out. What are you guys planning to do re prams?

I'm due on the 16th of August, just had my 20 week scan yesterday (1st april), all is well with the baby, but absolutely gutted that the sonographer couldn't even guess at the gender of my baby. So we still don't know if we're having a boy or a girl, as the baby wouldn't uncross its legs no matter how much I jumped about to get the baby to move.
All my family members are saying how exciting it will be to get a surprise after giving birth, but I don't see that way at all. I've been really down since the scan, am I over reacting to this?
I can't even book a private scan to try again as the clinics are either shut or only doing health scans because of this virus!! Does anyone have any ideas to get another scan?? I hate the idea of having to wait till August, it's only April.
If I'm being ridiculous, please tell me, I was just so excited to find out.

I'm due 8th August with my first!

I had my 20 week scan about 2 weeks ago and baby is measuring a little bit but healthy! We haven't found out the sex but I'm so excited!

I have placenta previa so amongst all this chaos I'm scared I'll end up with a c section all on my own! I know August is some time away yet but things don't seem to be improving in the slightest.

Luckily everything is done in regards to baby. If baby was to come tomorrow we'd be OK, the nursery is done, we have our travel system, a few clothes until we find out the sex. It's just a case of putting the next2me up and Moses basket etc!

In worrying times but atleast we all have something to focus on and isolating means baby is safe.

I have however been furloughed which isn't great for saving up a little egg for maternity leave..!

@BCA23 you could do an at home blood test. They're about £70 and take a week x

I am due Aug 14th with my 1st.

@BCA23 I am also in your position - really want to find out the sex, but wasn't able to at 20 week scan, and all private places closed.

Also interested in what people are doing about Prams, as I wanted to "test drive" them so to speak, but if this lockdown continues, I am worried we will just have to buy one blind. Along with everything else.

Has anyone bought any thing yet? You sound well organised @Babyshine2020

This is my third but 6 years between my youngest so we have nothing left from her.

I’ve always waited until the week before I’m due to get anything as I’m superstitious but now?? I really don’t know what to do!

I’ve got a birth to 7 year car seat that Dd is still using, so at least that’s ok, just got to get Dd a high back booster and baby can use hers.

@ml01omm we ended up with the Mamas and Paps Ocarro; we were able to test it out in the shops and I did a lot of reading up on it etc. We got a 9 piece set in the sales for £799, it meant he had to get black, but it was better than half price!

@Connie222 I know it was a little premature but we had 2 big holidays planned between Jan and August (now it looks like we won't be going!) so we wanted to get things as and when we had the money and we made the most of the Christmas and new year sales. I know it was risky, but we were in the mind frame we could send it back if the worst happened.

Precious Little One (I think it's called) have some amazing bundles online

@Babyshine2020 thank you I'll have look into that.
@Connie222 all we have for our baby is a pram and 3 little vest that are unisex, 2 of which one of my friends bought for us. So we almost have nothing bought for our baby. Nothing else, money is very tight for us right now, so we can't really go out and buy baby things when we want to.
@ml01omm we got our pram only a couple of weeks ago before the full lockdown came into place and I managed to get a feel for it in the shop, although without the weight of the baby in it. Maybe have a look at reviews of prams online and look for what people have said about how it feels to push around. Not sure how much help that will be, but the best I can come up with whilst you can't go out.

@ml01omm YouTube is your friend right now! Not ideal, but look at the reviews that aren't from sponsored people! We wanted a pram we could put up and down with one hand, but we live semi-rural and have country walks leading from our front door so wanted something that could take the forest, the pram we got is a little bulky, but it's what we wanted!

Hiya ladies. I’m due 13th August and am 21 weeks today with a little girl! The only thing we had ordered before the lockdown was the travel system - originally wanted an ocarro but found it was a bit heavy for me so went for the mamas and papas flip xt3 which is similar but lighter and not great on country lanes. This didn’t bother us because were in the city and will mainly use it on walks and shopping etc. We ordered it on interest free instalments to arrive in July, however now a little nervous in case M&P goes bust because of the current situation and we lose itConfused

Since lockdown I’ve gone a little mad and have slowly started ordering stuff online. DH has now banned me from any more shoppingBlush as our garage is getting quite full. We were in the middle of a house purchase before corona kicked off and now the housing market is suspended - this is most worrying thing for me tbh as I’m an organised person and wanted her nursery ready etc beforehand. Can’t do anything until we know if we are still moving or not!

Hope everyone is doing well, I really like talking to people due the same time as it’s so comforting to know you’re not alone xx

@Babyshine2020 I really have no idea. I swing between thinking by August we’ll be over the peak and getting bleak thoughts about a second wave. I don’t know what to think really.

@Babyshine2020 I’m thinking the same! I’ve been furloughed for the foreseeable future, I think this may go on til around June and I’m due to leave mid July! I’m praying it’s better by then 💕

I’m 18 weeks + 3, having a girl! Fingers crossed for us all that this will be over before August Smile

My biggest struggle is wanting to start stocking up on essentials, but I feel so guilty buying anything because there’s probably pregnant women who a due sooner who need it more and are struggling with lots being out of stock Sad

@BCA23 you’re not being ridiculous at all! I’d be equally upset if I had to wait until birth to find gender. The private clinic near me (window to the womb) are only offering health scans but are happy to tell you the gender if it’s clear during the scan. So it might be worth contacting your nearest clinic that’s still open just to check.

I had my 20 week scan last week without DH, I got a text a few days before saying partners were no longer allowed. We were a little upset but tbh fully understood and support the measures they’re putting in place. At the end of the day they’re being careful to protect our babies! DH drove me and waited in the car, my scan went well thankfully and the sonographer was lovely. I only paid for 2 images and she gave me about 10 to show DH, I called him as soon as I got out saying baby was okay and then went to meet him to show him the pics. Overall it was a positive experience and I’m happy and pleased they’re taking it seriously.

I’m not too worried or stressed about it, even if it continues in August. I’m a little sad that our parents / family / friends won’t be able to meet baby if we’re still on lockdown but everyone understands. I feel we are so blessed and privileged to have something positive to focus on during these times! And also really lucky that we are living in a world with such good technology that we can phone, video call etc our family/friends easily.

Hey, I'm also due 12 August. We are not finding out the sex and are very excited, keep wondering if it's a little girl or boy. I love feeling the kicks and wiggles I've been getting recently.

I had to go to my 20 week scan alone, disappointed but completely understand, just really hoping things improve by August.

We have also ordered the Ocarro, we weren't planning to order stuff so early but we went to a baby show in Feb and had good deals and I'd heard there might be a delay in getting things due to factories in China being closed (not sure how true this is). Although I'm trying to now get hold of baby planet who process the baby show sales to pay my balance and they've closed their phone lines so hoping I can still pay and get it delivered soon!

Hope you are all feeling well.

@2020Aug our local baby shop where we got our nursery furniture from can't get a couple of prams in complete due to China, they have prams and they can send you home with a working pram but some accessories are delayed.

My only concern with the current situation is that it might not be over by the time I come around to giving birth and I'll have to do it alone. It's my first baby and I have enough worries about giving birth in the first place, let alone having to go through the entire process on my own!!
@Jem9153 @samluna I've already gone to all my midwife appts and first routine pregnancy blood test alone as my partner can't get time off work to come with me to all of them. The only appt he's been able to come to was my first scan. Then to find out he wasn't allowed to come to the 20 week scan was upsetting, but as some of you have already said, I understand why they're doing it. My hospital were giving out free scan photos to everyone, which 1, was lovely and 2, I think because you can only pay using a touch screen machine, so obviously they didn't want the risks involved with everyone touching it all day.
@Peachy200 thank you, I just feel like if I say to my family and friends how I really feel about not having found out at my scan, they'll think I'm being ridiculous about it and to lighten up. As horrible as it is, it's nice to know I'm not the only one who would feel this way if they didn't get to find out. Also, I've had a look at my local window to the womb clinic, they're saying the same thing. However, it says due to the virus they aren't taking direct bookings for health scans, only those who have been referred by the hospital where they had their original anomaly scan done and they found a problem. So I can't even use that route in. Thank you for the suggestion though, they were the first place I checked.

I'm due 29th August and having a girl. I've brought all the big things just incase orders are stopped. I'm very frightened, this is my first baby and just terrified I'm going to have to give birth on my own.
